You just cannot stop with the lies can you. Simply incapable because that is exactly what the trump presidency and current campaign is all about:

“No disaster relief funding at all was used to support migrants housing and services. None. At. All,” Bates said. “In fact, the funding for communities to support migrants is directly appropriated by Congress to [Customs & Border Protection], and is merely administered by FEMA. The funding is in no way related to FEMA’s response and recovery efforts."

    Just freaking duh.

And the rest of the story:
He outlined that FEMA has already provided more than $45 million in direct financial assistance to individuals and families affected by the storm, including more than $17 million to North Carolina.

By the way, FEMA is not broke.

    And then there's this:
GOP leaders in some of the affected states, including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, have thanked the Biden administration for its speedy response.

The bigger challenge is the bullshit trump is spewing hampers the recovery, In fact trump's record of assisting disaster victims is appalling. Oh wait, who can forget the image of him throwing rolls of paper towels into the crowd?

There are shithole countries Bill, and here in the USA we now have shithole cities. San Francisco (gives put shit maps), NYC, Chicago and many more. Keep on hating bill.

How does this answer FEMA not having funds Bill?? Defer and deflect, your hate filled MO.

Elon Musk posted that one of his SpaceX engineers on the ground in North Carolina is reporting that FEMA is blocking and seizing shipments of aid including Starlink receivers. The engineer reports that all Starlink shipments are on hold until they can get an escort

WTF???? These people need help!!! Way to go Harris.

I don't trust your links from X but this one was from The New York Post. I clicked on it. Did you actually read it???
Over two years, more than $1.4 billion has been committed from FEMA-administered programs to support non-federal entities that are taking care of migrants.

DHS allocated $780 million for the migrant crisis last year initially through the FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program, which funds relief not associated with natural disasters, and then through the new FEMA Shelter and Services Program, which was authorized in late 2022 by Congress (not the Democrats) to respond to the migrant crisis.

The $640.9 million spent this year comes solely from the Shelter and Services Program.

“These claims are completely false,” DHS said in a statement Thursday to Fox News following the Republican outcry.

“As Secretary Mayorkas said, FEMA has the necessary resources to meet the immediate needs associated with Hurricane Helene and other disasters. The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is a completely separate, appropriated grant program that was authorized and funded by Congress and is not associated in any way with FEMA’s disaster-related authorities or funding streams.”

Why bother? It's good for readers to know the truth.
"The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is a completely separate, appropriated grant program that was authorized and funded by Congress and is not associated in any way with FEMA's disaster-related authorities or funding streams," a DHS spokesperson previously told Newsweek.

I have to assume many of you know the funding mechanism for all of these programs is through the US House and Senate. The short term bill passed a month or so ago allocated $20 million dollars to the FEMA budget through late in Dec. Hurricane Helene was far more devastating than projected and the needs far more substantial with their being a legitimate question if that $20 billion dollars is enough, (which is what Mayorkas was referring to).

The realities of those hard hit areas is they may need more money allocated, especially if another severe weather event hits the country. President Biden has the authority to call the two chambers back in for an emergency session. House Speaker Johnson is saying it's not necessary, while many of the officials in the affected states are asking Biden to do just that.

Here's a piece of that article:
Congress recently replenished the agency's disaster relief fund with a $20 billion infusion as part of a short-term government spending bill, though a chunk of that was expected to be spent on pent-up demands from previous disasters.

Some Republican lawmakers who signed on to the letter said they are willing to return to Congress to work on a supplemental package for FEMA.

Sen. Rick Scott of Florida on Monday said that the Senate should “immediately reconvene” to pass such a package. And Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said that it is “imperative that Congress reconvene to pass a supplemental aid package for the damage done to the Southeast by Hurricane Helene and also to provide missile defense assistance to Israel.”

Hope that helps clear up anyone's apparent confusion.
