FREE - The City of Glendale Dump - - located approx. 117th & Glendale Ave. has an area for dumping your old computer, monitor and/or large electronics. A Recycle area is specifically there for these items...AND it is FREE !!! That's a deal ! For more info -- call the City of Glendale or go on their web site.
Twice a week I put one (1) bag in the can - mostly food items/packages. All the items you mentioned are recycled.
The area I went to at the City of Glendale Dump was only for electronics... computers, t.v.'s, etc. ...nothing else..
Pegmih. FYI: I donate regularly to Goodwill, Salvation Army, the thrift stores, and I'm sure they want nothing from my recycling bin. The people of Naperville, IL took on recycling in the mid 1980's, so I am ingrained in the process. It will take time for the SC residents to get with the program, too. Some never will. Some communities charge for every bag of garbage you put at the curb. That helps with recycling. I think I'm finished with talk of trash.
You probably need to replace that entire top lid of garbage-can yourself.... Ace Hardware carries them - - then not only will you have a new lid -- you will get a new foot-pedal,also ! I had to replace mine several years ago...they all get old and worn - I even replaced the "trash can" inside ( but not the "liner"). That will probably be the next thing to replace with our wonderful under the ground trash can. Love it -- so much better than draggin' out a large can a couple times a week. :calm:
Sometimes it is suggested that you use a neighbor's trash can to make others think they are home. Same with sometimes parking your car in their driveway. Always ask, of course.
Ask the neighbor if it is o.k. before you use their trash can. But it would be nice to make it appear as if they are home -- when in reality they are gone.
