Hey EO, welcome. Truly amazing to be suspended for letting readers know they should attend an RCSC board meeting. I understand the concerns about the ugliness between the right and left. I suspect we are tired of it. That said, i would be really curious about the review, even more curious who the administrator is and why or how this is divisive to the Nextdoor group. People should be involved in their community and how it is run. If you get reinstated and the post put back, let us know. At this point i just want Sun City residents to show up on the 13th of September and they can see for themselves how they operate.

Anyway, good to have you here with us, pretty safe bet you won't be kicked off this site.

 

Wow, that's crazy! Word of mouth is what it's going to take! Maybe the admin of Nextdoor app is a member or friend of a member of the RCSC board

 

It's beginning to look like we have our own deep-state within the RCSC??? And we've already seen the fake news in Sue's letter in the Independent!

It appears to me that the board is simply doubling-down in support of their actions and I can't wait to hear their explanation at the September 13th board meeting.

Like I said in an earlier thread, don't be surprised if you see someone from the posse or sheriff's dept. show up at the meeting just in case things get out of hand?

This continues to grow uglier with every passing day.

I LOVE IT! I thought I had posted on NextDoor two days ago but apparently I do not know my way around that venue. You did an excellent, excellent job of getting attention - THANK YOU! We now have this venue, a Facebook group, the Sun City Independent (if you send a Letter to the editor), and NextDoor to raise awareness about the "booting" of Karen McAdam.

EVERYONE -- don't forget to talk to others in your clubs.

Exactly right eyesopen. We need to contact all Sun City Club presidents to implore their members to attend September 13th. Are the Clubs listed somewhere on RCSC website with officers names & email addresses? An email, is what's needed to help rally the troops!

The few I checked include Club/Category contact name and only phone numbers.
However, some, like the Bell Woodworking, reference their own website and they have an email listed there.
A substantial task to check each club! So many wonderful activities available in Sun City!

 

Here's the problem gang, every club is dependent on the RCSC. It gets especially challenging when they have dedicated space and that space can be taken away by the management team. If you recall, the board relinquished who got what space to management. They didn't want to have to deal with it. The funny thing is, if you look at the new Grand Ave building and did a deep dive on who ended up there, you would see some interesting connections. They will quickly say that was done by the ad hoc long range planning committee for Grand Ave but the simple reality is several of the then current board members had previous ties to the clubs that got space. I guess you can take the board member out of the club but you can't ignore the fact when the club space was allocated, the winners had a previous relationship.

And if you think this is all the ramblings of a crazy man, watch what happens in the next two weeks.

As i sat typing that, i had to scratch my head and try and remember the effort one board member made in leading this ever so pure effort to allow clubs to apply for said space at Grand Ave. The biggest pile of horse manure came when the Stained Glass Club at Bell was told they were awarded square footage in the new Grand Avenue Center. Oops, no one asked for that move from the club and in fact were mildly angry that anyone thought they wanted to be shuffled off from their existing space. They had requested a small addition on their existing room at the Bell Center, not to be moved across town.

Once the opening came the infighting for the space took on a fascinating life of it's own as one of the club's at Oakmont suddenly became the heir apparent. I won't list the board members who helped push it through but suffice to say i remember no one who "recused" themselves. Then of course was the amazing amount of space for the camera club at Sun Dial. Nope not arguing against them getting or needing it, but i do know the relationship of at least one former board member with said club. Finally, the other club that got moved there was one from Lakeview and one of the seated board members was the former president of the club.

The point of this exercise is quite simple. Things that have happened over the years haven't been pure as the driven snow. Decisions are made, board members lobby for and get things. It's been that way for a very long time. Hence my points are quite simple, hanging Karen out to dry for acts other board members have done and may i say in far more egregious fashion is pathetically woeful. Worse yet, pretending those things never took place is even more disgraceful.

Hmm, quote is quite appropriate if you swap iut the word "politicians" for some "current RCSC board members." You guess who!

 

Quite the contrary! The longer this goes on the more the word is spreading and the larger it gets. Not only have we addressed the injustice on this blog, but blogs on several other social media sites have been created!

 

I believe it was Dan or Van Ness who pushed it through. I can somewhat remember some of the conversation going on at that time

 

No point in heaving P_I, there's always been some of this kind of stuff going on in the community. What is a travesty is they know it exists and try and stick it on Karen. Sorry, doesn't wash guys. I still laugh when i think back to the gm saying we needed to get rid of the long range planning committee because the members got on their because they had an"agenda." I looked at her and asked if she thought perhaps the board filled with golfers came with an agenda? Deer in the headlights look received.

 

Well, well, deliberate…or not?? Really? Omitting the Board Meeting from the Save the Date Calendar isn’t going to make anyone forget to attend!
Per the Articles of Incorporation, the sole purpose of the RCSC..."To do anything and everything lawfully necessary in the interest of the Members of the Corporation.” This RCSC Board of Directors meeting is definitely “IN THE INTEREST OF THE MEMBERS.”
The meeting IS ON! Please encourage your Sun City neighbors and friends to mark their calendars.
