BruceW your quote on trust is certainly one of the major issues at play here. It's been an interesting week with more info to come soon. In the mean time google The Peter Principal as it comes into play big time....more later.
I thought it was a mandate by RCSC Management and BOD that any individual BOD member was required to funnel all public statements through the RCSC Communications Director. Any Board Member better watch out for getting into hot water for speaking your mind without a filter or pre-approval.
Appreciate your comments Aggie. I am intimately aware of the topic you are referring too and that is part of the "more info to come" postings that you may see soon.
Got to say Gary, you've peaked my curiosity with your last couple of posts. Having spent 3 years on the RCSC board, there was many a night i sat home scratching my head about who was zooming whom? Looking forward to coming installments.
This is just begging for this.... Settle down BW, the "more to come" is being discussed in Executive Session, therefore no comments can be made. There will be a vote at the next meeting, which is in a month or so. Sorry, I had to.
Too funny V. Way looking forward to Gary C's coming comments, but watch out Gary, aggie is spot on about fellow board members who are huge fans of doing it in the dark.
No worries, I was just excited to see comments from an actual BOD member. Pretty cool I thought. Maybe I am just easily entertained.
Don't get too excited BW, it's not something the "other" board members want or like to see. The idea of this kind of two-way conversation is just foreign to most of them. It puts residents on an equal footing, and they feel that's not in their best interest. Here's the real tragedy: there's nothing they do worthy of being secretive about. With the exception of personnel and disciplinary issues which are protected, airing their discussions in an open setting would only insure a more objective outcome. God forbid we should work from the standpoint of being able to rationally argue direction, rather than just making up your mind behind closed doors, take some crap at a board or member exchange meeting and then pass it anyway. Everyone wins when the cloak of secrecy is removed. Yes it would be more time consuming; but better to take the time to get it right than to be suffering under 40 million dollars in golf upgrades, only to have the golf community up in arms over what they are doing (as an example).
