Why can't you ever hold a decent conversation without using all your negative adjectives? Nobody on the Right is ever good enough or smart enough for you.

They can't. It's the way of the left. They support anything vile, disgusting and abhorrent. Cities and states run by them are failing. Homeless everywhere. Illegal migrant crime. I even said Sun City started to fail after Bill was elected to the board. Sun City is turning into the San Francisco of Arizona. Empty stores, stores moving to SCW, restaurants closing or moving to SCW. My nextdoor neighbor and all their friends stopped going to board meetings then. Bill says stores leaving are because of the internet. SCW is booming and when I was there at the doctor last week I had internet.

My favorite Billism is 'then the new GM threw open the books and we saw what was happening'. If Bill is as smart as he thinks he is why didn't he "throw open the books"? Anyone who is that smart should have spotted the problem in a nano second.

Doesn't matter anymore. Sun City is nearing its demise. A whole thread on ND about the crappy restaurants and lack of places to go. Well with the exception of the rec centers.

 

I get it but, let's be honest here HH! Sun City is not a city at all, and the RCSC has nothing to do with the stores and merchants within our borders.

But with that said, it would be nice if SOMEBODY would engage with the local Chamber of Commerce's from Peoria, Glendale and other local communities to campaign and solicit for more consumer friendly stores to move into our borders.

Does the RCSC Long Range Planning Committee look any farther than the borders of Sun City?

Seems like the RCSC has liaisons with many other institutions, like fire, police, traffic and safety, the library. How about a liaison committee with those various Chamber's of Commerce to see what the problem or possibilities could be?

 

Kind of sad, it now appears as if Tom Marone is getting aboard the "i hate Sun City" train being driven by the hipster. I remember when he loved the community, not sure why becoming a trumper means you have to hate the community you live in?

Might be the dumbest thing hippie has written (which is saying a lot) claiming Sun City is "nearing its demise." Nothing could be further from the truth. Sun City was built during a time when everything was local (hence all the shopping centers and strip malls). Sun City West was built 20 years later, with less of them, as societal changes were already occurring with the advent of big box stores.

It's exactly why history matters, but we know hippie is focused on tearing everything and everyone down. It's why she was booted from several social media sites; civility is not her strong point. It would seem to me someone who HATES Sun City so much would move to Sun City West where everything is "so much better."

But alas, we know that won't happen. I'll just take solace in knowing Sun City is an incredible place to live, both in retirement or if still working. Nowhere else is as reasonable with so many amazing amenities. NOWHERE.

I get it's not a city, but there has to be a reason for what is happening. Agree about the Chambers. However I did go to several open houses last week after seeing the surgeon in SCW. It has a different feel. I have friends that live there and they are engaged with the Rec Center meetings. They actually put a board member on notice at the beginning of Summer.

My gut is telling me it's people are getting tired of the board doing things in secret and they don't care much anymore. Eg libraries, Grand purchase, TBird building. People don't feel like they have a say. We just lost a landmark 40 year Sun Health Foundation resale store which moved to SCW. We need a draw.

 

I never said I hate Sun City. I said I don't like what it has become. Not only do you have to be crass when you speak you have to lie as well. Tom and I can actually "discuss" without snark, something you have not realized is a normal thing.

Why do you make such stupid assumptions Bill? All I was doing was pointing out the facts, that Sun City/RCSC has nothing to do with the commercial enterprises within our borders, something I would have thought you would have agreed with.

I neither said, nor implied that I hated Sun City. The only thing I implied was that I thought Sun City could be better, as a community. Something I thought you would find your JOY in?

Jesus, Bill has been pushing the Josie hates Sun City for years. I never said that and have asked for proof on numerous occasions but never a response. Just like the abortion issue, so I have to assume 2 things, he has no proof and dead babies give him joy.

Geesh I have been coming here since early 1980's. Loved it. Moved here to take care of parents in 2004. By 2017 when I had the time to get out and about I realized how much it had changed and in my opinion not for the better. That's all.

But alas, i have this sense that video will never surface, just like the one Chris LaCivita claimed they had at Arlington but never produced. He told the press they had video proving the Arlington employee was not pushed (do you think it was Corey?) and would show the world. Oops, still waiting. And no, the one they did share was nowhere near the incident that took place.
