Not too long ago some cute cut-out sculptures of coyotes and a few other things appeared on Thunderbird, around Boswell Hospital. Then there was a little bit of complaining in the local papers and then suddenly they were gone. Does anyone know the story, or even the gossip, as to what occurred?

If I remember correctly, MCDOT or some other transportation authority said the art was distracting to motorists and could only be a certain height.
So the art was removed. I don't know about other drivers, but when I'm driving, my eyes are on the road not on the medians. The art did not bother me at all.

Thanks. Though have not been there recently, I think that there still are similar works on the median on 7th Avenue north of Bell Road.

There is a bronze statue at the entrance of Lakeview and
a small copy in a lighted niche at the Sun City Visitor Center.

    The plaque reads as follows:

    Sun City Volunteers
    A Lifestyle of Giving
These figures represent the highest values
of our community: strength of character
    dignity, compassion and mindful resonsibility
to our own and future generations.

Yes, that's it. I was going to use the small version at the Visitor's Center as my next statue, but I guess I'll move on to something else.
