On this day, July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the Moon - Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. It was the fifth manned mission of NASA's Apollo program. That was 44 years ago. Do you remember where you were? I was at a baseball game in California.
Last fall I wrote an article for The Independent about Jess Lytle, a Sun City resident who helped make all the tools used on the mission. The tools are still on the moon! Another Sun City amazing person! He was a VIP guest for the launch.
