In just under two hours we will have the opportunity to demonstrate to our current and future membership how even the most contentious of debates can be handled civilly in a public setting. All can express their views in a conversational tone and inquisitive manner without being argumentative. It is quite possible your question may get asked early on, and the answer given is not what you wanted to hear. Asking it 50 more times is not likely to change the answer. However, writing to the Board members may help them to see that pursuing the right to vote is not an activist campaign carried on by a few "troublemakers". We are all very concerned about the governance of RCSC - It is our money and our future. SO PLEASE, resist the urge to let your emotions guide your words. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to create an informed opinion. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
John, I hope your request was honored. I did try to attend this evening, but neuropathy is a very ugly disease to contend with. Around 3:30 pm, the feet then the legs gave way to noticeable pain. I can’t hardly walk to my kitchen, let alone a parking lot and the auditorium. I really did change my mind about attending, but I can barely stand right now, let alone walk. I truly apologize for not attending our meeting. Let’s hope everything stays civil and calm. Thank you.
Carole, Thanks for caring! The meeting was attended by over 1,700 members! I thought it was civil even though President Foster made the comment the lawyer was confident RCSC could recover legal fees from me. I have fought those battles before. I may have been a bit impassioned when I explained what the suit was all about. Looks like RCSC wants to take this matter to court. Not my preference but sometimes one has to be willing to do whatever it takes to stand up for their principals.
John, That remark about fees shows little class. There would have been no reason to that type of remark and would be very miffed if this was the best communication from the President of the board. Just me, but being crass is just not needed.
Other than that particular comment I felt the evening was pretty civil considering there was over 1,700 members present and a controversial stance taken by the Board.
