Elon, richest man in the world yet so down to earth. https://x.com/i/status/1820117674866983139

Notice how changing the names and images on pancake, syrup and rice containers created world peace and ended all violence in America?

It's always interesting to listen to the brain-addled trump when he talks about how awful life in the United States is. In speech after speech he bemoans how the Democrats have ruined the country.

The ultimate question is simple: Is it really that bad? To find one of the answers, here's a June 7 clip from Reuters News Service:
"U.S. household wealth rose to a record of more than $160 trillion in the first three months of 2024 thanks to the stock market's record run and gains in real estate, Federal Reserve data showed on Friday.

Household net worth rose 3.2%, or by $5.1 trillion, with the appreciation of equity holdings accounting for the lion's share of the gain at $3.8 trillion, the Fed said in its quarterly snapshot of the nation's private and public sector finances."

And so we are really clear, crime is down, drilling for oil is up and interest rates were just reduced and should drop even further come Sept. For the border zealots, crossings were down as well. And all of this on top of the three Russian prisoners being released and Kamala Harris being welcomed with open arms by a surprising number of Americans who see life in this country as pretty darn good.

    Go figure eh?

The woman is stating her opinion. People on social media do it a lot via video or statements. People are allowed to express their opinions. You of all people should understand that as you do it daily here. But then again you have no opinions, just facts. Obviously, you were there during filming so you know there was a teleprompter and what the video will be used for. The puzzling part is why you don't know who the guy in the background is. Oh, and BTW this was from 2020. Didn't catch that part huh? Funny (not) it still applies today.

You are correct, I like facts, especially when people who have no idea what they are talking about voice opinions based on either questionable facts or no facts at all. Case in point, your videos regarding the stock market last week. The Dow represents 30 stocks out of 5000. You should look at S&P 500 (stocks, mostly tech) or Russell 2000. You must look at big picture and not one day. The markets go through corrections (sell off for profit taking), bull runs when certain stocks are cheap. You want to know what is happening with gas prices, look at gas futures traded on commodity exchanges ( it is traded under RBOB). Try downloading the CNBC app as it provides a ton of economic information.

As for the video, I understand opinions but I also understand slick productions. You have somebody write the script, you hire the generic individual to read, complete with the proper emotions at the correct times. This looks like a trial run or rough cut of a campaign commercial, hence the guy with the specs in the frame as he is probably the handler. Sometimes things are not what they seem.

Research and analysis is really not one of your strong points.

Before we get on the trump crazy train, let's take a quick peak at his vice president pick, J D Vance. Interesting for sure; thank you donald jr and Peter Thiel.

He made news last week when he stopped by for a rally/event in Glendale. I found this comment from him in the newspaper regarding the new Democratic pick to replace Joe quite interesting: "“Kamala Harris is a phony who caters to whatever audience is in front of her,”

Fascinating when you consider what he had to say about trump just a few years back; let's recap:
"Trump's promises are the needle in America's collective vein," Vance wrote in a 2016 Atlantic essay, in which he compared Trump's movement to a "quick high" and the antithesis of "real medicine" that would not solve problems that average Americans face.

The comparison between Trump and Adolf Hitler was included in a message Vance sent to Democratic Georgia state Rep. Josh McLaurin, his old college roommate. In one from the 2016 presidential election, he called Trump "reprehensible" for his rhetoric toward immigrants and Muslims, according to CNN.

Yikes...who is catering to whom here JD?

OK Dave you are correct. Blocked Bill, no use reading same rhetoric be it SC History or liberals making it ok for men to beat up girls in Olympic competition. Blocking you as well because you know nothing but hate. Have asked you several times to just ignore my posts, they are not directed towards you, but obviously you have zero self-control and you have to keep poking the bear.

One has to love the far rights penchant to both make things up and worse yet, buy into the Russia/Putin line of bull crap. Just for fun, let's recap for the fans at home the new world order according to trump: Putin/Russia good, main stream media (MSM), "enemies of the state." How freaking fun is that?

So we are all really clear here, Imane Khelif was born a female. Let me repeat, born a female and always competed as a female. She has and always has had female genitalia. I know that's not what heavy Fox News viewers want to hear, but those are the "facts." The same is true for Lin Yuting another female boxer who in 2023 was disqualified for having XY monochromes by the newly departed IBA.

Rather than trying to explain it, here's a cut from an article and why the IBA (go Russia) has bee displaced.

Olympic officials took issue with how presidents from Uzbekistan and Russia ran the IBA, as well as the fact that its sole sponsor was a Russian state energy firm, according to the Associated Press.

The IOC has repeatedly defended the athletes’ right to compete in Paris, casting doubt on the process that disqualified them last year and pointing to their female legal identities.

“They are women in their passports and it’s stated that this is the case, that they are female,” spokesperson Mark Adams told reporters earlier this week. Notably, there is no right to change one’s legal gender under Algerian law.

I know how some hate it when facts get in the way of their flawed narrative, but oh well.

I am sure the left will be arguing the "boxing farce" at the olympics this year. A line must be drawn. Imane Khelif was born with a rare biological condition which attributes to her "male" XY chromones and testosterone levels, also making her have male traits. As usual the left will hide anything that doesn't fit their narrative.

"Khelif’s biological profile presents a nuanced situation. Born female and identifying as a woman, she appears to have a condition known as differences of sex development (DSD). This condition would explain her XY chromosomes and higher testosterone levels — traits typically associated with male athletes. These elevated testosterone levels also led to her failing a gender eligibility test and getting disqualified at the 2023 World Boxing Championships. However, it's important to note that Imane has not publicly confirmed having a DSD."

Well Bill and CT, as you both know I can be strongly opinionated at times and I tell you what I think of the Republican Party :
They have the politics of 1930’s Germany
They have the morality of the Massachusetts Bay colony in 1650’s
They have the religion of 13th Century Europe.
They have the cruelty of the Spanish Inquisition

As for the Republican presidential nominee:
    He doesn’t know anything
He doesn’t try to know anything
He does want to know anything
He doesn’t care that he doesn’t know anything

If you watch the “substance” of his rallies, it’s like all the radio stations played Stairway to Heaven alternating with Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, 24 hours a day seven days a week for four years.SSDD. The man is a drooling, blithering idiot with a declining mental capacity.

You may not agree with me but it certainly is an interesting spin.

I'm far less caustic about it Dave and i am perfectly comfortable with the "weird" moniker. It fits and here's why:

1). It's weird to me the two far right candidates hate our furry friends; Vance/cats and trump/dogs.
2). It's weird to me for a VP candidate to be insulting single women.
3). It's weird to me two grown ass men would be telling a person born a female she can't be a woman.
4). It's weird to me for the VP choice to want to assault a couch. (I know it's allegedly not true, but it is too weird a story not to include).
5). It's weird to me for a VP to try and insult his bi-racial opposition when he is in fact married to an Indian woman whose parents were immigrants. Asking for a friend; was that one of trump's "shit hole" countries?
6). I's weird to me for a man who loudly professed his disdain for 45 is now his running mate.

It's all just weird and confusing.

    Couldn’t resist, just too easy.

1). It's weird to me the two far right candidates hate our furry friends; Vance/cats and trump/dogs.

I have never seen a statement regarding either hating dogs or cats. Have seen a photo of Trump holding a Beagle. A lot of people don’t like animals. Where is it etched in stone that POTUS and VP must have an animal? I find it absolutely frightening that liberals vote based on whether the candidate likes dogs and cats. Joe had 2 dogs that bit the crap out of everyone and were banned from the White House.

2). It's weird to me for a VP candidate to be insulting single women.

You insult people every day. It’s odd and perverted that POTUS fondles and kisses little children and showered with his teen age daughter.

3). It's weird to me two grown ass men would be telling a person born a female she can't be a woman.

No clue here unless it’s this.

However I do think these two are weird: https://www.lipstickalley.com/threa...-dark-about-young-kids-gender-change.5109834/

4). It's weird to me for the VP choice to want to assault a couch. (I know it's allegedly not true, but it is to weird a story not to include).

    Too stupid to even address.

5). It's weird to me for a VP to try and insult his bi-racial opposition when he is in fact married to an Indian woman whose parents were immigrants. Asking for a friend; was that one of trump's "shit hole" countries?

Kamala was Indian and White/Jamaican until she was Indian and black as stated by the black, Indian, Jamaican, white woman herself.

6). I's weird to me for a man who professed his disdain for 46 is now his running mate.
What did Kamala say to Joe on the Dem Debate stage…..called him a racist (kind of) I think. Re bussing?

It's all just weird and confusing.

Yes, it is. There is too much to cover as “weird” in the Biden administration. Crack and LGBTQABCD parties with women(?) Baring breasts in the People’s House. Hiding the fact that Joe has dementia. Kamala thinks data is stored in a “cloud” above us now instead of filing cabinets in the basement. Way too much weirdness and perversion.

    AND THIS is perverted!!!
