If you remember my biggest issue revolved around proxies. I had to accept them as they were in the Articles. The real problem was people ignorant about proxies and how they work. I venture to say that a large majority of residents do not understand what they are, how they work, the two types and the ability to cancel your proxy if you have a change of heart. I also worried about people collecting proxies being less than truthful when requesting a member signing a proxy they didn’t totally understand. I had to relent as there was no real solution that would satisfy both sides, a tactical retreat if you will to fight another day.

No, Dave, you are not on the same level as Mr. Fast or any other attorney who completed three years of law school. You may have experience in some legal situations but that doesn't make you an expert on the entirety of the legal professions. That is like a Certified Nurse, who administers medications, saying she is on the same level as a pharmacist.

I no longer keep a teaching certificate (called licensure in some states) but I don't know of any paraprofessional that would say they are on the same level as someone with a Master's Degree and many years of experience, even if the para has a degree. At least none of the wonderful paras that I worked with over the years.

Sorry, your story doesn't convince me.

Enough of this BS about John and being an attorney!!

“Yes. Inactive status actually has nothing to do with one's title. A person who is licensed to practice law can be called an "attorney at law". Inactive members have chosen this status voluntarily and may transfer to active at any time upon request.”

John never said Attorney at Law”, so his title as an Attorney is valid. I, for one, am sick to death of the bantering between everyone on this thread. Trying to get into the semantics of John’s J.D., and actually questioning the validity of such, makes me extremely angry, Dave. You claim to know what you know, and a simple search on the internet on several sites states, in multiple locations, a statement similar to the one posted what John stated was the truth.
I would be most appreciative of the subject being dropped and not returned for discussion again. The name calling and bickering needs to please stop. This is a site for the benefit of Sun City, not for demeaning fellow posters ever, no matter who you are. This post reflects my opinion only.

Just my opinion, but you are as guilty as anyone on this site, and I have the posts to prove it. If someone is spreading rumors, they should be called out.
