I think some day I might like to work at a rec center--especially by the lake where I could sit and hand out golf balls and other supplies for the fun going on there. Anyone have experience working for the recreation department?

I am sure you are talking about the Lakeview mini-golf.
It is my favorite mini-golf of all the rec centers and I take visitors there.
If you go, be sure to climb to the top of the hill.
In February there wasn't any water in the waterfall. I think that has been fixed.
You can rent rowboats and they plan to have paddle boats.
You can also fish and a license is not required because it is private property.

The waterfall is back! It sounded so loud the other day. I had forgotten how much I love the affect. They also had two pontoon paddle boats at the dock. Anyone want to try one out with me?

I found it curious that SCW advertises openings in the local papers, but RCSC doesn't. I asked them about this and was told they always have lots of folks to choose from without advertising and that by the time they posted in SunViews, it would be too late since they would've already hired someone. Still think Human Resources should send out an email blast to those who expressed interest of being on such a list. It's a matter of communication and a courtesy. It would also help others understand the types of jobs available, and help others understand just what is involved with certain positions. Also suggested that when new hires are made that they be introduced via SunViews so we could put faces with positions, but that hasn't happened either.....

You can attach your motor to one of the boats at Lakeview.
I sure want to try those paddle boats. Maybe when it is a bit cooler. Guess I'll have a looooong wait!

Funny thing just happened as I called Lakeview and they were not aware of paddle boats being available yet and said there would be a press release when they were--She read something about boat policy and said 16ft boats were limit and 10 hp. She didn't think your own motor could be attached to one of theirs, so suggest you get a hold of that document before making any plans....

There are lots of options available in AZ, and this is a handy link: Arizona Game and Fish Dept.

Paddleboat info has arrived! RCSC sent out this release. They do have canopy tops too.

The new Paddleboats at Viewpoint Lake (at Lakeview Center) will be available for RCSC Cardholders & their guests on Monday, August 5.
Use of these boats requires a minimum of two adults (or an adult and another person age 12 or older).
Check in with the Facilities Attendant at Lakeview Mini Golf is required.

Do 2 people paddle or only one.
How many people does the boat hold?
    The picture shows 3.
