I am glad someone mentioned protecting pipes in cold weather. During my first winter here I woke up to frozen pipes. After a few hours I had water again. However, lesson learned. I now cover front & back pipes.
I chuckle when Sun City folks talk about cold weather, yes I know it is cold for you guys and your homes were probably not built for low temps. We got some snow yesterday and then it got cold. Woke up to 1 degree this morning... it has warmed up to 8 and we are supposed to hit a high of 15 today. The rest of the week forecast is supposed to get us back in to the abnormal 50s... looking forward to that.
Temperature was 28 this morning at 6am and 30 right now at 7. Good thing we have all shrubs/plants covered. Went out and turned on outside faucets on very low as running water won't freeze. Plumbers will be very busy today fixing burst pipes and irrigation systems. Brrrrr. Add: Still below freezing at 8:30!
