I am amazed at how little we hear about conserving water in our homes. With the population growing in the Valley, one can only guess that without voluntary water conservation, we will all be forced some day to do so. What are your tips for conserving water in your home? We follow advice received from a camp: "If it's yellow; let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down." Also, military-style showers would be a good use of water--pull the chain to soak up and to rinse off. Let's hear from you!

We have always tried to conserve water and had lived through a drought in n. CA years ago where you were penalized for any over use. We had to take showers quickly and it just became a good habit to keep. I always cringe when people put in expansive front lawns that suck up water here in the desert and prefer natural rock and native plantings myself.

Common Sense has to be used when trying to conserve water...I think it is a must - - especially living in the desert areas. The water company gives tips on water conservation.. or google it for more ideas.
I have to wonder why I see some folks washing down their large drive-ways with their hoses - -WOW - -
what a waste of water...a broom does well.

Fortunately most homes in Sun City have Rock Yards and low maintenance-low-water plants, etc.

Back in Texas, yes even there - where rain happened often - - at times rain would be scarce. We were put on a odd-even water day, where we could water yards only if our addresses were either odd or even to match the day of that calendar month. Good idea...there was also a time limit - - and that was also a good idea.
