Online voting for the RCSC Board of Directors began yesterday and will continue through December 8th. The first Candidate Forum has been posted on YouTube and you simply search for "2015 RCSC Candidate Forum". The second Candidate Forum will be held tonight(November 10th) at Marinette Center beginning at 7:00. This live drama is much better than what you will see on TV. Absentee ballots can be requested at the Lakeview management offices and voting in person will be December 8th. You can also get assistance voting online at the Lakeview office and your vote is confidential. The results of online, absentee ballots and in person votes will not be counted until the close of polls on the 8th. You do not have to vote for 3 candidates to fill the open seats if you don't care for three candidates. You can vote for 1, 2 or 3 to fill the seats.

Online voting for SCHOA will begin tomorrow with a much shorter time period to vote. Voting online or in person at the SCHOA office will take place from November 11 to November 18. There are 7 candidates running to fill 5 seats. Please take note that the SCHOA office will be closed November 11th in observation of Veterans Day.

Do some research and vote! :encouragement:

Two recommendations for the SCHOA board of directors: Ben Roloff and Steven Puck. I know both personally and would love to see them part of the SCHOA board going forward. I would encourage folks to do a Google search on candidates to see what kind of background information is out there...very interesting.

The 2nd RCSC Candidate Forum at Marinette had more attending than I expected. Much was learned from the first forum's format and this one had a better flow with quite a few questions from the audience. It was a bit surprising how uninformed many of the candidates were on many issues. I may just vote for 1 or 2 as some candidates seem to have an agenda of their own and others don't seem strong enough to form their own opinions. The video should be on YouTube shortly and I'd advise you watch it before voting. The candidates should be praised for stepping forward to volunteer for this demanding position.

The SCHOA candidates require a bit more searching to find out their backgrounds as there were no candidate forums. The candidates have attended Town Halls and meetings but there were no formal forums for questions. Perhaps next year this could be incorporated into one of the SCHOA Community Town Halls. Ben Roloff would be a great addition to the SCHOA Board.

Thanks for the update aggie...sounds way better than the first one. It is too bad SCHOA didn't hold any forums, seeing people up close and personal is always a good thing. For too long some of these boards struggled to get enough candidates, now with more running than open positions, doing a little homework just makes sense.

I can't say enough about encouraging people to get involved and at the very least vote. Boards set the agenda for the staff...or at least they should work that way.

Yes aggie, thanks for the update.

There are no additional forums scheduled, correct?

Except for the RCSC posting last night's forum on YouTube there will be no more forums for either RCSC or SCHOA.

The forum last night, 11/10 has not been posted yet. You can just do a Google Search of 2015 RCSC Candidate Forum on YouTube every day or so to see when it shows up.

Its just a YouTube word. If you post a video you automatically have a channel. They have 2 other videos posted along with that one that will expire.
