Math is not my strength but this is information that may help in figuring in additional savings when you purchase taxable items in Sun City. Some online sites let you pay sales tax based on our zip code which also gives savings.

City Sales Tax Rates in Maricopa County, Arizona last updated: March 1, 2015.

The State of Arizona has a base sales tax rate of 5.6%. Unincorporated areas of Maricopa County(which includes Sun City) adds an additional tax rate of .7% for a sales tax rate of 6.3%....right?

So if Maricopa County tax starts at 6.3%, then you must add the additional tax percentage for the cities listed below to arrive at the total sales tax rate. Some cities such as Glendale and Peoria might even have additional taxes. This is just a general guideline but shows shopping in Sun City has a built in discount when taking the tax savings into account:

I purchased all my appliances in Sun City at the appliance store next to Safeway (Del Webb/Bell) for that very reason.

It is privately owned and they are very accommodating.
