This What Arizonans should know with 2 weeks until travel ID deadline By Mitchell Koch Published: Apr. 23, 2025 PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two weeks from now, you will be required to show the new travel ID in Arizona in order to be able to board a plane. This requirement is in compliance with the new federal Real ID Act going into effect on May 7. The Arizona Department of Transportation is now asking anyone who does not yet have a Real ID not to rush to make an appointment. Instead, ADOT is asking you to wait until closer to when you plan to travel. This request is due to the large amount of Real ID appointments being seen at Arizona MVD locations.
