Text Scam Alert - A Message from RCSC Cardholder Services

A RCSC Member has alerted us of a current scam that has recently occurred. A Privilege Cardholder (not homeowner) received a text with a link to a fake RCSC bill for the PIF fee.

After review, it was determined this bill is erroneous. RCSC is investigating the origin of the scam.

Please be aware that Cardholder Services will never send a text message and only communicates to Members through email or USPS mail.

If you receive a text from an unknown sender do not click on links or download files. If you have questions or concerns, please call Cardholder Services at 623-561-4603.

Here's some tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of a text scam.
• Take a few seconds before you tap. If you receive a suspicious text, one of the safest things you can do is nothing.
• Don’t reply. Don’t click. Don’t engage.

If you get an unexpected text asking you to click a link, share information, or act fast, take a breath and ask yourself:
? Was I expecting this message?
? Does the link look suspicious? (Most links in legit texts will come from simple, recognizable domains.)
? Does the message make sense?
? Did I actually order a package?
? Do I really have an account with this service?
