Handweavers & Spinners Guild of Sun City Sun City Handweavers and Spinners Guild had its first organizational meeting on February 3,1970. The charter was granted in April of 1970, making this Guild one of the oldest craft groups in Sun City. We’re located at the Sundial Rec Center, 14801 N. 103rd Avenue, Sun City, AZ 85351. The Guild was founded as, and continues to be, a teaching guild. We teach both beginning (basic) as well as intermediate weaving classes. Classes start on the second Wednesday in October and last for 10 weeks. On the second Wednesday in January, the same classes are repeated. We also offer classes in Beading, Shirett, Hardanger, Inkle, Kumihimo, Spinning, and Baskets. There are lovely woven items offered for sale in the clubroom. These items offer samples of what one can do with looms, threads, and a little instruction.
