It really comes as no surprise for anyone who has visited Sun City, and especially for those of us who have bought here, we'd expect nothing less. I've touted the 55Places website for years as being the best resource for those looking for their perfect retirement community. No one does it better than they do. To my delight, I popped open 55places this morning and the latest story on their blog section was entitled 25 Best Value Active Adult Communities For 2015. Sitting atop the list was Sun City Arizona. Nice. We've had an amazing year. Lot's of national and international attention, none more important the CBS Sunday Morning Show. Home sales were off the charts strong again and the 6.5 million dollars added to the PIF will only insure we continue to evolve to become one the places boomers look to first for their place in the sun. Congrats to 55Places and more so to all who help make Sun City a great place to live. How does it get any better than this?
I didn't know where to share this information but I thought a thread with this title would be most appropriate. I agree with BP's agreement with the 55places assessment that Sun City is THE number one value for active adults in the nation. Besides being a great value it's a great community filled with friendly, active and caring people. As a visitor to SC I've experienced that personally. I also have great experiences on these pages sharing information and asking (sometimes stupid) questions about life in Sun City and active adult communities in general. As I've written on these pages I've been involved in a major home search. That search is now over. Yesterday we signed on the dotted line, made a final decision, pulled the trigger as it were. We are purchasing a new home in Sun City Festival. We've visited the community several times and it just felt like home. Our home will be completed around May first and we'll move from the Twin Cities area of MN in mid-June. Even though I'll be a resident of Festival I expect I'll still be a visitor on a somewhat regular basis to the pages of Talk of Sun City. This is such a valuable resource and I so enjoy those who take the time to contribute here. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found these pages and the people that make them what they are. Thank you!
Congrats R, great to see you are taking the plunge and making the move on the next phase of your life. You know I would have loved for it to be the original Sun City, but we aren't for everyone. The choices are plentiful and the abundance of great places to live are at times overwhelming. I don't believe I have ever found anyone who has done as extensive a search as you have. Best of all, you shared your efforts with so many. Perhaps that was why I was so keen on you moving to the original...you are exactly the kind of person we need attract. Once you get settled in, send me a PM and I'll be happy to give you a personal tour of the Del Webb Sun Cities museum. Seeing how it all began is always fun for anyone who gets it and wants to be a part of this process we call age restricted living. Kudos brother, kudos.
Congratulations Rusco. I too had hopes you would end up in Sun City, but hey, it's good to know you found a place that already feels like home. Take BP up on that invite to tour the museum...let me know if he got that running toilet fixed.
