I enjoyed watching it cast to my 60" TV from my tablet. The resolution was clear. Suck it up, technophobes. :cupcake:
Loved your comment! I make it to about 90% of the meetings and missed this month's Board Exchange. It was so good to be able to watch it this morning and catch up on all the comments from our cardholders. It was also refreshing to see so many issues brought forward by members. This will be such a valuable resource going forward! :applouse:
I read they have started private one on one meetings for members to talk to the board. I hope this doesn't stop people from standing up and discussing the bigger issues at the recorded meetings.
At last count the January RCSC Board/Member Exchange video had 487 views! It's definitely something that is watched and needed. Today's RCSC Board meeting might be titled after one of Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns....."The good, the bad & the ugly". We've truly taken a step into the present & future. Sun City and the RCSC should be proud that they are a welcoming community.
My guess is the January Board meeting will blow those numbers out of the water aggie. I wasn't able to attend, but i got feedback the meeting got a bit contentious. Seems some of the crowd should have come with their favorite t-shirts on, you know, the ones that say: "Homophobic and proud of it." In that i wasn't there, i'll wait for the replay to see how it was handled but the rumor was those wanting to voice their opinions but wanted to do so without following the proper procedures. Until that time, i'll bite my tongue until it's posted.
Yowzer. Looks like fun (not) ahead. I must say I was proud of SC when I read the item requesting an LGBT club. Now I guess I'd better stuff down the pride in preparation for viewing.
Haven't seen the video yet but i did want to take the opportunity to mention another board change that i think has real merit. In President Hoffer's column this month on better communication, he mentioned the board at their monthly meetings would be answering questions rather than telling people at the mic to stop after the meeting and talk to the board or to come to the member exchange. Great move Ric, kudos.
The video will prove very informative. Another item that is not widely known yet is that because of the current litigation regarding RCSC assessments and the PIF.....both the Willowbrook and South Golf Course renovations have been put on hold. The language is a bit vague, but in the Manager's Report it is stated "....by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors, RCSC has suspended new PIF contracting until further notice. This means the Willowcreek/Willowbrook golf course project and the South pro shop/golf cart storage project scheduled for 2017 will be postponed." Check out the management reports which are now online. Questions were answered as long as the member kept within their 3 minute allotment of time. The exchange of information was very refreshing. It's too bad there weren't more people attending but it seems the past few weeks have had soooo many meetings and events.
Sorry, this is a bit off-topic, but is there any news/insight as to what direction the suit seems to be taking? Suspending funding of new contracts would indicate there are some concerns about the outcome?
Not off-topic at all. This was addressed at the Board Meeting and will be shown on the video. Basically the word is no comment because they cannot comment about an ongoing litigation.
Looks like the suit is finally going to court in April as planned. Two things i'm looking for and don't see: 1) The meeting video isn't up yet. 2) Jan's report always includes PIF collected and that's not in it this time?
I watched it. I see no difference in an LGBT social club vs the Next Gen club, women's club, or any of the other clubs whose main focus is social. I'll bet if I go through the entire club list there will be something I would rather not my money go to but I wouldn't deny it. I only have one question about the LGBT club. Will they allow straight people to join? Because the ones who spoke seemed like people I would like to know. Kudos to the board for approval and congrats LGBT members of the community. Here is a direct link to that meeting
