Okay, i hate to say the board would do anything this stupid, so let me just ask this question in response to an email from a club that was sent out: The club claimed the new policy after the first of the year was that all punches on punch cards would be for $2.50. Obviously that will be challenging given the old punch cards had a value of $2.00.

As far back as i can remember, punch cards were honored as one punch irrespective of the price paid for the card (they used to be a card of 20 for $20.). Hopefully one of the board members can clarify how this is going to work going forward.

Okay,.... explanation Current punch card has 10 punches at $2.00 a punch = $20.00
Cards purchased in 2017 will be punched 8 times at $2.50 a punch = $20.00

Today I purchased a punch card for $20 with 10 punches
    in anticipation of visitors.
I got it at the Sun Dial Pool.
Cash was required Lakeview might take credit card.

Thanks for the responses, but i'm still trying to understand, so let me try again: In Peg's case, the punch card she bought the other day for $20 (10 punches) will be honored after the first of the year for one guest for one punch (even though the new cost is $2.50 per punch)?

Maybe there's a difference between the Guest Fee for club functions and using a punch card for visiting guests to use the RCSC facilities. It may be that clubs have to charge the increased fee starting the 1st of the year.

As far as I know, a purchased punch card is good to use until all punches are punched even if the cost was a lower amount. It wasn't all that long ago(but time flies, doesn't it!) that punches were $1. Asking for an additional 50 cents each time an older punch card is used would destroy the last threads of goodwill between RCSC members and the Board/Management.

There is no expiration for the current punch cards so they are honored ..

What do guests use or pay when they attend club functions after January 1? Say it's the dance club,.....do they pay $2.50 cash or do they use a punch card?

As more and more winter visitors return to Sun City AZ, RCSC would like to remind
Cardholders of a few items which require your attention when using the facilities:
    • All RCSC Cardholders are required to check in with their Member or Privilege
Cards (key fobs accepted for entry to fitness, pools and spas; not concerts or
    free events)
    • Host punch cards are purchased by and belong to the Cardholder, not the
    guest.
    • Guests may be requested to show government-issued photo ID when checking
    in to use RCSC facilities.
    • Neither Sun City AZ residents nor spouses of RCSC Cardholder are eligible to be
    guests
    .

Found this to be an interesting read in the online SunViews. Perhaps the last item should be looked into for 2017. Maybe some leeway should be given to those legal spouses not on the deed but paying the full property assessment or give single cardholders the option of using the guest punch card for any guest use?

In reading the SunViews article I answered my own questions. Club guests pay $2.50 starting Jan 1st and cannot use punch cards.

In the past when visitors played tennis or pickleball the member would get the card punched by the monitor. Conversely is the visitor got a week long pass (using 7 punches), they would simply present their temporary card and a photo ID for access. If the member had a punch card that was purchased before 2017, can they still do this?
