Well I heard 3 amounts for the cost. $35 million and $25-30 million. Probably need to watch the video again or maybe wait for the meeting this Friday. Heard architect will not be at next few SAC meetings.

    GETTING REAL!
Anxious for the SAC final recommendation.
How will the board and membership react?

I think the architect, Marlene Imirzianis, is providing reasonable advice. She’s a great resource.

I believe the numbers you're referring to are those that would be required to build a brand new PAC regardless of whether it's built at Mountain View or Lake View. That pretty much makes the decision fairly easy. If they build a brand new building there will not be enough dollars left for anything else, so it looks like it's boiling down to renovating the existing building at Mountain View!

So if built at MV approximate cost $25-$30 million?

The way I understood it was, only a brand new building would cost that much. Renovating the existing building would be a lot less expensive and the remaining dollars would be used on the other amenities at that location.

I think there's still a lot that needs to be worked out and that's not going to happen until we can get a finalized design and cost from the architect. I'm not sure how much the 2024 budget would affect anything since the dollars are coming from the PIF?

I think it's still to early to make any real decisions regarding the PAC and the Mountain View renovation. The 35 million dollars is a non-starter as it would leave the rest of the center with nothing. That's not going to happen. It appears as if the contract with the current architect was limited in scope. They need to go back and hire her to give us real numbers relative to remodeling the existing building. At some point (soon) we need to figure out what is affordable and what isn't.

Yes indeed. More to be revealed on this project. The only thing certain is the uncertainty.

I think she agreed to draft a non contractual budget for remodel of the Mountain View theatre to send to SAC before their next meeting.

Great, that will give us a pretty good idea on the cost to remodel. I got a chance to talk to the architect after the last meeting i attended and she told me that of all the projects they proposed and bid, they found their projections were accurate 95% of the time. The other 5% were attributed to things they hadn't expected. What a novel approach, expecting bids to be realistic and not someone's best guess, or worse yet, a placeholder.
