Communication!! 1. The Board decided ahead of time today that no comments from those watching the Board meeting at home (Live Streaming) would be allowed to have their comments read. This is what I was told by acting GM Dirmyer: "Since this our first board meeting with the live stream it was decided to prioritize the members in attendance and given that we are in a time crunch, the online comments may not be addressed. ((this was never announced prior to the meeting. Perhaps some of those who had questions would have attended the meeting if they had known that.)) I am being given the comments and have them ready if the board asks for them. ((They didn't.) This process needs refinement and we will learn and improve on it. ((Yes, that's great, but I've heard that so many times before. If you listen to President Foster today, he announces results on many topics, bylaws example, and follows with.....we are still waiting.....we are still evaluating.....we are still discussing. How long do the Members have to wait?)) 2. I asked online when we, the Members, would hear Mr. McCurdy's answer to the question from Director Nettesheim regarding the IT budget (I don't have those numbers with me but I'll get back to you.). Mr. Dirmyer emailed me during the meeting and told me to send an email to the Board to get that answer. I did but I also told Mr. Dirmyer that the Board does NOT answer their emails. 3. I found it highly disturbing to be reminded constantly by President Foster that "we have to hurry this meeting along because..... Let's keep this meeting moving..... etc." This is one of two opportunities that we have as Members to get information directly from our Directors that we voted in. We members also NEED to hear and see the interaction between the Board Directors as they give their opinions, etc. on recommendations or motions. PLEASE don't "hurry" us along!! These are my opinions. Jean Totten, #148753
One other Communication issue...... The recommendation from the LRPC regarding the projected PIF for 2026...... it was announced that "they" realized "they" had neglected to send out a copy of this document with the other information that was sent in an email blast. Apparently when they realized their mistake, the document was added to the WEBSITE but there was no mention of this action in an email blast so unless you were browsing through the website and happened upon it, you still would not have known about it. Something as important as the PIF forecast should have been seen by all interested Members ahead of time. Why do we continue to have to beg for documents and information? Jean Totten, #148753
