The book I am currently reading mentioned Red-eye Gravy. Not knowing what it was I googled it. It sounds so good that I think I will make it using bacon grease and cornbread. Have you ever made it?
Yes, I have after hearing about in OK, but I never knew the reason it was called that. I just thought it had to do with the black coffee in it that it would wake you up some more if you had a rough night and happened to have red eyes. It was tasty, but certainly not something for regular consumption unless you like high cholesterol and I'm battling with mine.
