Watching Biden speaking about how well American's are doing now. How we are in the "Great American Comeback". How we are able to spend more. Good Lord! I kid you not I had not been out to lunch or dinner for about 2 years. Went with neighbor at the beginning of the year (he lost his partner and needed cheering up). We went to the very exclusive Mercer's on Peoria. Almost fell out of the booth when a burger was $15, Omlet same! What in the hell happened???
FYI is against responsible journalism that doesn’t traffic in conspiracy theories. How many Pulitzer has Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, Washington Times won? Sorry Tom but you are drinking the Kool Aid every day.
Well, at least they didn't receive Pulitzer's for fake news! "In 2018, journalists from The New York Times and The Washington Post won a Pulitzer Prize in national reporting for their biased and inaccurate coverage of Russia’s alleged collaboration with the Trump campaign to interfere with the 2016 election, a claim we now know was a hoax. So when are they going to return the prize?" That was sourced from The Heritage Foundation, but I suppose you think they are full of shit as you do with all News outlets that don't agree with your perverted thinking? Wake-up Dave! And check the facts before you post a reply!
Is that like "Get Woke?" Anyway, what comes to my mind in Bob Marley: One, two, three, four! Wake up and live, y'all Wake up and live! Wake up and live now! Wake up and live! Life is one big road with lots of signs So when you riding through the ruts Don't you complicate your mind Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy! Don't bury your thoughts Put your vision to reality, yeah! All together now Wake up and live (wake up and live, y'all) Wake up and live (wake up and live) Wake up and wake up and live, yeah! (Wake up and live now) Wake up and (wake up and live), wake up and live! Rise ye mighty people, yeah! There's work to be done So let's do it a little by little Rise from your sleepless slumber! Yes, yeah! Yes, yeah! We're more than sand on the seashore We're more than numbers All together now Wake up and live now, y'all! (Wake up and live) Wake up and live! Wake up (Wake up and live, y'all) Wake up and live now! You see, one, one cocoa full a basket Whey they use you live big today, tomorrow you buried in a casket One, one cocoa full a basket, yeah, yes! Whey they use you live big today, tomorrow you bury in a casket W'all together now (wake up and live now!) Wake up and live! Oh! Yeah! (Wake up and live!) Uh! (Wake up and live now!) Wake up and live! (Wake up and live) Keep on playin'! (Wake up and live, y'all) Uh! Yeah! Yeah! (Wake up and live!) (Wake up and live now!) (Wake up and live!) Break it down! Come on, man! How is it feelin' over there? (Wake up and live now) All right! (Wake up and live!) Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah! Uh! Come on, man! You gotta wake up and live! Life is one big road with lots of signs, yes! So when you riding through the ruts Don't you complicate your mind Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy! Don't bury your thoughts Put your dream to reality, yeah! W'all together now (wake up and live, y'all) (Wake up and live!) Wake up and live, yeah! (Wake up and live now!) (Wake up and live!) (Wake up and live now!) (Wake up and live) Wooh! (Wake up and live now!) (Wake up and live!)
I guess when you have nothing of value to say you quote the lyrics of a song stanza by stanza and use up a whole page just for you! I can play that game!
HH. I'm sorry. I thought I was responding to IndependentCynic comments about all of the bickering going on with this thread. He (or she) made a comment about two ends of a horse. Some see the head while others see the back end and yet some do not acknowledge the horse at all. It was a feeble attempt at some humor. It was not directed at or in response to anything you said or wrote. We have a divided country for certain and that is why I do not debate politics or religion online and do not participate in any social media outlets. It seems as though everyone is entrenched in The Right and The Left they seldom see the center. Maybe the center doesn't exist anymore. Maybe it is just a pipe dream. I have never voted for a person/ I have always voted for a politician who aliens with my values and those are: 1. The life of an unborn child. Do you know that a person can go to jail for breaking a Bald Eagle’s egg? In the USA we are not allowed to kill an unborn Bald Eagle, the American symbol of freedom, but people fight for the right to kill an unborn person. https://www.fws.gov/law/bald-and-golden-eagle-protection-act 2. The return of teaching math, history, and science instead of indoctrinating our children with the LGBTQ agenda. 3. Women’s right to keep biologic men out of their sport and locker room. 4. To protect our young / school age children from transgender ideology and irreversible mutilation. 5. Secure our borders and speed up legal immigration while at the same time stopping illegal immigrants from crossing our borders. 6. Return of our troops from foreign countries and the end to America’s involvement in foreign conflicts. 7. As a bonus, if some politician would make it possible for term limits in congress that would also be great. These are my thoughts and beliefs and I will not debate them online. Arguing about any of this will not alter any other persons beliefs or values especially at this late stage of our lives. Everyone must come to their own set of values and beliefs. Those beliefs and values can not be changed because someone argued an opposing point of view. Beliefs and values come from within and through living life. My beliefs and values are not up for debate because they are mine. I can share them and talk about them rationally but I will not debate them. After reading several pages on this thread I was thinking there was a lot of arguing, from both sides, about who is right and who is wrong. I realized what I was taught growing up is true. It's a waste of time discussing religion and politics with people of opposite values and beliefs. At the same time I was thinking about all of the discourse in this thread I found the IndependentCynic comment and I responded to him or her. If I stepped wrong I apologize. Again, my comment was not directed at you or anyone on TOSC. It was a response to bickering comment from IndependentCynic.
Error on my part. Didn't know what joke you were referring to until I backtracked and looked. I actually laughed out loud at what you thought would offend me. After what Dave and Bill have called me on numerous occasions your statement was pretty mild. Yes Trump is brash. Yes they caught him in "locker room" talk, however he can't hold a candle to how vulgar Dave and Bill speak. I guess they are trying to shock me. Everything you listed are my beliefs. Tim Walz' bill on born alive abortions left 24 babies to die. His and Kamala's stance on gender change surgery without parental consent for minors is demonic. Look at Shiloh Jolie Pitt. She dressed like a boy, cut her hair like a boy and wanted to be called John. She is now wearing makeup and beautiful dresses. Elon Musk lost a child due to gender transforming drugs. Illegal gang members are taking over Aurora Colorado. There are 320,000 missing migrant children, and anyone who doesn't think some are being sex trafficked, those people are just too stupid for words. The world has gone mad and I will vote my conservative values until the day I die.
Harris and Biden obviously don't get Israel is our ally! Bibi is pissed! Way to go Joe! https://x.com/SebGorka/status/1831069233138315578
Dear Einar and other TOSC readers, First, I don't expect anyone to agree with me on every issue. Even my better half and children don't! I study the issues, reflect on my own principles, and come to my viewpoint while listening to others and open to new information. I don't watch much tv, preferring to read instead. That goes for the news, too. Although my earlier post was very long, I had to omit some of my writing to be within the limit allowed on this website. No problem. I will state a few of those omitted statements here. I am going to address the Israel/Palestine issue first. Even though I have been a lifelong registered Republican, I differ with my party on this issue. One only has to study Israel's recent history to know that they have persecuted the Palestinians for decades. Many of the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories do not have the right to vote. I find that unconscionable. In the US, women won the right to vote in 1919. Blacks in the 1950's and other restrictions on them, such as requiring them to read and write, were removed in the 1960's. We opposed apartheid in South Africa until it was changed. Why do we look the other way on the Palestinians being denied that right? Hamas is a small extremist group. They should not have killed many Israelis in their attack and executed Israeli and American hostages. However does that give Israeli the right to bomb their entire area, killing the elderly and children and destroying all of their infrastructure? I think not! We don't destroy Germany because there are a few white supremacist groups there. Another piece to the Israeli puzzle is the billions of dollars that the US has, and continues to, send to Israel. Far more than any other country. I realize they are our ally in the Middle East but the aid we give them adds greatly to our national debt just as our Social Security and Medicare programs are at risk. I am sure someone will call me an antisemitist because of this post. I have good friends who are Jewish and a relative is seriously dating a Jewish girl. It is not racism to raise these questions. I have no problem with anyone practicing their own faith. I am undecided on abortion, understanding both sides. My brother fathered a child while in high school. The baby was adopted by a wonderful couple and he had a good upbringing with another adopted brother on a farm in Nebraska. Would he, as well as other adopted children, have lived if abortion was so readily available in the 1960's? I believe in abortion up until 12 -15 weeks in the case of incest or rape. I am less convinced if the fetus is considered unviable. My career was helping students, ages birth to 21, with all kinds of disabilities. Some had very minor issues such as needing speech therapy to correct a lisp; others were spending their lives in a wheelchair, nonverbal, with feeding tubes, and needed to be suctioned so they didn't aspirate on their own saliva. I know of some children who were born at less than two pounds and are leading very normal lives. Several of the parents of my students told me that they were told by doctors that their children would never walk, talk or feed themselves. Not true! One of those is a nurse and has her own family. Her only issue is a slight limp. Another family was told to put their son in an institution. They refused. His siblings taught him to walk, he attended school, continues to have some disabilities, but he lived with and took care of his mother until she was 100 years old. What a blessing he was to their family! So should I support the right of the woman to control her own body, which most already have when having sexual relations, or the right of the unborn to live their lives. I have always rode the fence on this issue. Now I am leaning more to the right of the unborn. We are all influenced by our own experiences and we should respect that. I have no problem persons who are LBGQT having the same rights as everyone else. In fact, I believe they already do now which is why I didn't put it at the top of my priority list. I DO NOT support gender changing medical care for minors. They are too young to make that decision that can't be reversed if they change their minds. Now to defunding the police. Perhaps that is a misnomer but we should not be reducing the number of police officers in cities where they are needed. I have no problem with reviewing their expenditures and finding other ways to deal with individuals who are breaking the law but let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. While it is true that people of color are disproportionately arrested, does that mean a police officer should not take into custody someone who is a minority and breaking the law? I don't want to live in that community! Let me tell you about a man who died in Omaha last week. He was shot by a police officer. The man disregarded 23 police commands to comply with their orders to come out of his residence. He had a sawed off weapon with a silencer on it. The weapon was on the floor of the hall where he was standing when the police entered his residence. The man made a move that made the police officer feel threatened. After the shooting, the police found 800+ fentanyl tablets. The man had a criminal history. Because the man wasn't actually holding his weapon, people are demonstrating in the streets and demanding that the police officer be fired. Pretty soon only the people breaking the law will have rights. Not the country I want to live in! In cases where the police need to control hundreds or thousands of protestors, I want them to have the necessary equipment to do their job. I did not say that "common sense" was only found in the Midwest or any particular political party. I agree that nothing is more important in America than protecting individual rights. However, having responsible financial leadership is essential for our government to provide those rights. One of the concerns I have about the Harris/Walz ticket is that neither one of them has worked in the private sector. In fact, neither have any of their parents. That means they are two generations removed from any experience in running businesses. For full disclosure, my career in education was paid by the taxpayers. My mother was also a teacher. My father was a private small businessman, as were my husband and his family. I learned a great deal from listening to them around the dinner table talking about the challenges of keeping a business afloat. "Capitalism" is an evil word to some people, but it is the principle that our fine country was built on and still continues today. I am afraid we are moving away from that and our nation will decline rapidly and dismally. Hope this clarifies some of my stances on issues. Ta,ta for now, Janet
Bravo again Janet! I agree with everything you said! Not mentioned was late term abortions and the Walz botched abortion born alive leave to die law that allowed 24 babies to die. Both Harris and Walz support that. I am against abortion with exception of special circumstances. Re police, we are unincorporated and if I had a nickel for every post I have seen about crime in Sun City and no police I could afford my assessment fee. We are unincorporated. We don't have a police department. MCSO has a huge area to cover and they will address a person with a gun in Surprise prior to a robbery, or a call about a homeless person on your lawn in Sun City. We need every police officer we can get and most don't want to be cops anymore unless they live in Mayberry. A cop was killed in the Minneapolis riots which burned the city down while our VP was leading the charge to bail out rioters. Another school shooting today by a 14 year old child, 4 dead. Harris/Walz want your guns as if that will solve the problem. I don't recall school shootings in the 60's or 70's, but kids got spanked back then. We respected our parents and elders and if we didn't, we knew there would be consequences. Drugs were not flowing freely into this country through open borders altering the minds of our kids. I was out running errands with my democrat buddy yesterday, and as a joke I gave him a Trump bumper sticker. We laughed like hell. As we were driving. he made sure to point out a Harris sign and we laughed again. We actually talk about our political differences. Imagine that.
Another democrat says buh bye!!! Former California Democrat announces she's registering as a Republican, voting for Trump (youtube.com)
BREAKING: The *entire* family of Kamala Harris running mate Tim Walz just endorsed TRUMP. This is the greatest troll of the 2024 election
Saw that! Awesome photo! And now this! Tim Walz hit with House subpoena for records on $250M Minn. COVID fraud Broke today, guess we will see what happens Gov. Walz subpoenaed by House committee for Feeding Our Future scheme | FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul “The Biden-Harris Administration and the Walz Administration oversaw the exploitation of $250 million in child nutrition program funds, resulting in the largest COVID-19 fraud scheme in the nation,” said Rep. Finstad Finstad Releases Statement on Subpoena of Governor Walz, USDA Officials - Press Releases - United States Congressman Brad Finstad (house.gov)
FYI, Latest inflation figure 2%, closing price 8/30/24 for Sept gas futures $2.20, currently gas future price for October $1.93, correct price for West Texas crude $69. Which is down over 30% from December 2021 and down 11% from June, 2023. Gas futures were $3.64 for 3/22, $2.76 in 12/23 closed at $1.96 in June, 2024. Rule of thumb of sorts is to add $.80-$1.00 to these prices for pump prices. The US during the Biden administration pumped more oil on a daily basis than Trump did. Those are verifiable facts, so Trump’s blathering about oil and gas prices is his clueless verbal diarrhea. HH won’t read this because 1., it contains facts, 2. you would actually have to read this, 3. she will say I am just trying to show how smart I am. No cupcake this is called research, not a bunch of videos from crack pot stations which have a non exclusive relationship with the truth. You obviously have not read the Mueller Report. You can borrow my copy, no I will never get it back. Try the library. No, I do not believe the Heritage Foundation as I have been following their twisted views for decades. The 2025 Report they have been in theory working on since the 1960s. HH, Sebastian Gorka is a Hungarian neo Nazi. You really should read more. Yes he served in the Trump Adm8nistration. Sieg Heil Sebastian!!
What specific mental disorder do you have that makes you say stuff like this. Do you ever speak like a normal person? I told you before I am not your cupcake. That is degrading. I asked you nicely not to call me that, but obviously you don't respond to nice. Do you know Dr. Gorka personally? Did you know he was born in London in 1970? Did you know his parents fled to the United Kingdom from Hungary after the failed anti-Soviet 1956 uprising and became naturalized British citizens in 1963? Dr. Gorka has more experience and knowledge than you could ever hope to achieve. Probably why he is so successful in life. Here is a little about him. The one thing I do notice is that you berate every single person who is more successful, smarter, famous and wealthier than you. Sebastian Gorka, former Trump aide, recalled as stellar teacher at SOCom (tampabay.com)
I think you're smart enough to know that the inflation rate is only based and reported on, on a yearly basis, but when you look at the cost to the economy since Bidenomics began, you're looking at almost 20%!!! From an August 2024 Forbes Newsletter, but I assume you have nothing good to say about Forbes either! Inflation: Inflation has been far worse during the Biden administration, up 19% over the first 42 months of Biden’s term compared to 6% during Trump’s first 42 months, according to the government’s consumer price index. There you go again. Totally ignore the fact that those above mentioned "journalists", (and I use that term lightly) received a Pulitzer for a now debunked theory. True, Russia probably tried to influence the election, but Trump did not collude with the Russian's. Dare I say our own government has colluded with the mainstream media and social media to effect the election process against Trump much more than the Russians. And the sad part is, the Russian's only use money to influence our election while our own corrupt government has totally destroyed the integrity and trust in our system. Bottom line: Nobody trusts anything that comes out of the government anymore! Looking forward to seeing Kamala's photoshopped W-2 that will say she worked at McDonalds when that wasn't mentioned in her memoir or any previous campaigns for elected office.
