Sun City Posse ready to show off
    Will host fire, safety expo

Security and protection are priorities of the Sun City Posse and to showcase that role in keeping the community safe the organization will host a fire and safety expo.

“Keeping Sun City Safe” will be conducted in cooperation with Sun City Fire and Medical Department and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday Oct. 16 at Posse headquarters, 10861 W. Sunland Drive. Visitors can come for an hour or for all four hours as this is their opportunity to meet with members of the city’s first response team and sheriff’s department to learn more about their roles in keeping Sun City secure and to ask questions about safety concerns that affect them. There also will be safety tips and personnel ready to answer those questions.

Sheriff’s deputies and medical responders also will demonstrate equipment they use.

There will be plenty of demonstrations from emergency response personnel. Attendees can learn about the necessary features of having a home lock box outside their front door and the safety and security it affords. There also will be demonstrations on how to properly install smoke detectors and carbon monoxide smoke detectors.

This event will also will be residents’ opportunity to tour the Posse facilities and meet with Posse patrol and administrative staff. The expo will also be an opportunity to volunteer to become a member of the Posse.

The expo event and parking are free.

    Call 623-972-2555.
