Hi, I'm looking at townhomes Sun City but have a question about HOAs and pet restrictions. I know that not all HOAs have the same rules but generally speaking do many have restrictions on dog size. I have a 90+ lbs Great Pyrenees. Not a scary dog at all but he's definitely a big dog. Any insights into restrictions on dogs anf their size would be appreciated. Thanks
I think most do. Some only on number of dogs. Some on weight. We did not have a weight limit before, but it only took one bad owner to get people to sign a petition for a special meeting and vote on changing the rule. Now we can have 2 dogs under 20 pounds. Dogs already there were grandfathered. Pet rules can change from what they were when you bought in.
Your best bet is to ask a local realtor to try and identify any HOA's (there's 384 of them in Sun City) that meet your requirements. It will save you wasting their time and yours.
