A few weeks ago there was a great article about the new owners of Palmbrook and Union Hills. Sure would like to see them spruced up. How nice it would be to have dining spots comparable to Westbrook Village: views and pleasant ambiance [draft beer too ;) ] Don't know why Sun City Country Club can't sustain a good restaurant either. SC Country Club has been open to diners without a membership for years but there is nothing to lure people in save for some special event nights, but they never have been known for good food on a regular basis or a bar people would want to frequent. Sun West West's "The Crooked Putter" has people from all around coming for their well know delicious fish fries. Palmbrook started a freshly battered and fried fish fry for awhile and it was delicious and happily open to the public. Palmbrook still has a great Taco Tuesday open to the public as well as some other meals too but they aren't good at promoting these events, their website has little info, and today when I tried to call them with some questions, all 8 of their phone extensions just rang and rang. My email to Palmbrook bounced. What's the deal with a business that doesn't seem to want to do business? Why can't RCSC have one non-JiMichael's clone? A real restaurant on a golf course rather than just a golf Snack Shop?

Just got back from Taco Tuesdays at Palmbrook and ran into one of the new owners and chatted a bit. They are planning opening up their side dining area with garage type doors and lotsa upgrades. Also envisions great things for Union Hills if permits can be granted. Seems much more community minded than the last owners and kept saying they can't keep doing things like in the old days and that's one of the reasons they're changing from a "country club" to a club and have a new outlook--even added a symbol of a lovebird since there are plenty of them living on the course and it looks fresh. I'm excited at the possibilities of those properties and the attitude of the new owners.
