    The compliance staff are paid employees. They don't patrol around looking for violations as they are already too busy following up on reported complaints. If they happen to see an obvious violation while at a call they will follow up on it. Any resident can file a report either online, by phone or in person. The staff will also go to homes to advise about possible construction requirements or pre-sale inspections to check for possible CC&R violations. There have been many homes that have added non-permitted Maricopa County additions in violation of setback requirements or other CC&Rs and they may have to be removed prior to a change in ownership.
