From the August 2015 "Sunviews" Preservation and Improvement Fees collected in May were $527,748, which is $107,748 over the amount budgeted. May PIF collected is down from the highs the prior two months. Year to date PIF fees are $2,890,848 which is $1,027,848 over budget for the year. Again a reminder that we intentionally budget PIF income very conservatively to assure that we have the cash on hand for any planned project as we remain debt free. How can a $3000 per home sale end up being an odd number? Yes, I am now looking deep to keep the conversation on the board going.
Good question. I will be watching for answers. BTW. I am in the process of preparing for catarract surgery. It is very, very pricey if you go with top of the line which I plan to do. Unfortunately, Medicare & insurance (mine anyway) does not cover it. Anyone with experience with this procedure?
There is and always seems to be odd amounts in the PIF because some folks who may inherit a property will agree to make payments (they sometimes don't have cash on hand to pay the full $3000 and consequently payment schedules are agreed to rather than turning it over for collection. I only know this because I asked while on the board.
I'm shocked they don't pay for cataract surgery, or it is just the type you are having they won't pay for? My long past experience with cataract surgery would make you laugh. It was very old school in the 70's. After the procedure the patient had to lie very still for several days. They stayed in the hospital and we surrounded their heads with these large sand bags so they would not move. Good thing times have improved to this to an unbelievable degree.
This should probably be a totally different thread, but..... Medicare & my Insurance does pay for the basic cataract surgery. I am opting for Laser and correction of astigmatism. Today I talked to my insurance company and they suggested the doctor request a priorcauthorization to cover cost. We'll see.......
