Love the site, really I do but here's a suggestion for you. When we were in the planning stages of the new RCSC marketing website I was adamant we add a feature that included a free rental page for Sun City properties. I had no interest in doing anything more than listing them with contact numbers to get in touch with the owners. Unfortunately some board members were concerned about us doing that and it fell off the table. Tragic, but what's new about poor choices? Any way, I would think this site could become an awesome resource for folks looking for rental properties in Sun City and Sun City West. Many of the age restricted communities don't even allow rentals. Our communities do, but all too often the agencies out there handling them want 4 to 6 month leases and won't even talk to you if you want a month or two. I would suggest you consider a page just for rentals and have them include how long and how much they want with the rental. There are scads of them out there and if you were to become the go to source for folks coming into the community on a short term basis, you would in all likelihood get them as followers to the site. The one thing we know about Sun City is that once people try it, they often buy it.

I won't mention that some RCSC board members were not interested in doing anything. I wonder if I will get a bonus point? Admin?
I will also go to Visitor Center and pick up some of the cards that realtors have left there. If and when TOSC does have a rental site I will let the realtors know.
rentals My condo association does not allow rental. Across the street they do. It's an option that associations have to vote on.
Hello - Thank you for the suggestion. If you scroll down the home page we have a section for Real Estate and have a place for Rentals. Is this along the lines of what you think would be helpful or something different?
Nope not even close. I would start a category for Sun City Rentals. That may pose a problem for you given some of your banner ads though. I would let Sun City home owners list their homes (with pictures), available dates and rates with their contact information. As you know I spend a lot of time on 55 Places and one of the biggest challenges is finding rentals in adult communities. If you became the go to resource on the web, imagine the impact you could make. I know there are companies within Sun City who handle rentals, but on at least three occasions I have stopped at them and left my name ad number on behalf of folks looking for a month or two rental. Never got a call back or a polite, sorry, we aren't interested. I would have killed to have this mind of a resource page on our marketing website but I was out voted on it. I suspect you could even charge a nominal fee to have these properties listed but more importantly as their rental dates are filled, you need them to let you know so as to change the info on the site. I suspect you will get some push with your SEO off this page as well.
This is good feedback. We are trying to envision how this would work. We currently have a section for rental properties and people can list their own properties with photos and information for free. It looks like this on the sister site: http://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/real-estate-rent-85/ Users can manage their own information listed and put multiple photos. How would you suggest it differ from this and when you say a section for 'Sun City' are you referring to specifically Arizona as the entire site is for residents of any Sun City. Thanks!
Thanks for the link to the Villages. That's exactly what I would do. A thread within the actual forum thread, independent and easy to find. When this is up I can link it directly to 55places when people ask about rentals in Sun City. As far as just Sun City, that is your call. My experience with boards like this is the better you are able categorize topics, the more people attach and find items they are interested in. Just as a final note, I am impressed on how well you are doing this and that you respond to people within the community. Nice job gang.
