I think the old Shell station on the southeast corner of 111th and Grand is being converted to a full size car wash. The ownership of the property transferred this spring. Seems like a good location for a reasonably priced car wash if it does a good job. It won't have much competition as the next best car wash is on Olive near 107th.
I was stunned to see it had closed aggie, they also own the Shell station on 103rd and Grand. Grand Ave is an interesting animal with massive traffic on a daily basis, but with most of it simply blowing through Sun City. It is almost imperative these types of business get Sun City support because my experience is ingress and egress from Grand Ave almost always sucks. No question a good, reasonably priced car wash would have a chance, but the number of golf cars and the number of folks who wash their own to save a buck may be problematic for them.
I would love a good car wash here in the Sun City area. I currently go to the one on T-bird and Rio Vista Park. Not close, but the do a good job. I hope the new place does a great job for a reasonable price. I still believe in shopping and supporting local, small business.
I've been going to the car wash at Costco. *It (the car wash) does a great job for $7.99. *Having said that, I'm willing to try something new to support local businesses.
