    It's Monsoon Time

In 2008 the National Weather Service decided to take the guesswork out of monsoon start and end dates.
June 15 is now the first day of the monsoon, and September 30 is the last day.
They did this to take the focus off whether or not a storm was considered a monsoon storm or not,
and have people be more concerned with safety.

Find out about Monsoons in Arizona.

Tomorrow night at 7:00 Channel 5 will have their annual Monsoon program.

    I watch it every year.

Today I moved the furniture from my courtyard into my garage.
    Table/umbrella/4 chairs.
Reason: At one time someone had their furniture blown down the street!

Good reason to have a garage!

yep!! I agree about the garage... Is it really common to get winds that strong?

I don't remember whether or not you live here, but we have strong winds year round.
Winds can be a bit stronger during Monsoon. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often.
During Monsoon we also get heavy rain which can cause flooding. Go to my main post and click on the Monsoon link.
It has some good info and pictures.
