The meeting started with a statement from Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Ben Freeman, who said MCSO is not in the business of immigration control. “We are in the peace-keeping business,” he said. “We do not do investigations into immigration or workplace identity. Those cases, we do not do that.”
