It's been an incredible winter (said with a smirk) in Sun City. Like always, we watch the evening news filled with images of snow storms and natural disasters that devastate whole regions of the country. Meanwhile we share in their pain when we have to break out the stocking caps and gloves when our temps plummet to the 50's. That said, this post isn't about our good fortune, or even others ugly weather conditions. I wasn't one of the first posters on this site by any means, but since i have found it, i have started countless threads and responded more times than i should have. Most of my posts are wordy by anyone's standards, but writing has always helped me internalize and analyze where i am, what i am doing and how i feel on any given topic. It's an outlet. I would never expect anyone to share their thoughts or experiences the way i do. However, i am intrigued by the number of posters over the last 5 years who found Talk Of Sun City and joined in the discussion. Especially the ones who used the site to hone in on why and where they select as their place in the sun. Let me just say, i get it. The excitement of leaving that old lifestyle behind for the next better chapter is easily spotted. Visitors to the site who log in and engage are filling the void of what the community is all about. Even those who don't, are getting questions answered they never ask. If left to me own devices, i would have created a wholly different site, one where the only information would have been the original Sun City. It would be filled with video's and stories about the community that would be even more engaging and on point. In the end, it is what it is and i will continue to share my thoughts, frustrations and shear joy while living the dream. For those of you who joined, bought and drifted, i do understand. Living the dream, once you finally get here, is hard work (said with a smile). Looking forward to it is one thing, doing it is far more enjoyable eh?
