    Below are three programs planned for March 2014
    at the Fairway Branch Library, 10600 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City.

    ARIZONA HUMANITIES COUNCIL PROGRAM -- An Immigrant’s Struggles: The Diary of Irish-American ‘Mim’ Walsh, Presented by ASU Professor Judy Nolte Temple
    Wednesday, March 5, 10-11 a.m., Arizona Room #1
    This illustrated presentation will introduce audiences to the lively “voice” of diarist Mim Walsh, who wrote a 50-year-long journal that reveals her heartfelt experiences as an immigrant… Mim’s diary account of a longed-for trip back to Ireland at age 70 reveals the complexities of home, memory, citizenships, and reality.

    This presentation will also address the challenges and joys of working with a long historical manuscript, including its coding, inconsistencies, and mysteries.

    FRIENDS USED BOOKS AND MEDIA SALE
    Saturday, March 8, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
    The Friends of the Sun City Libraries, Inc. are sponsoring a used book sale at the Fairway Branch Library location. This event coincides with “Fairway Fun Days!” Choose from hundreds of quality used books, puzzles and more for all ages and on every imaginable subject. Prices are low and quality is high. This event is open to the public. Proceeds benefit the Sun City Libraries.

    HISTORIC NEGRO SPIRITUALS with the McHenry Singers
    Wednesday, March 19, 10:30-11:15 a.m., Arizona Room #1
    Join us for an entertaining and educational presentation by The McHenry Singers who will perform a repertoire of historic Negro spirituals from their CD: Of Thee I Sing. Program is in Arizona Room #1.
