The Kitt Peak National Observatory is a United States astronomical observatory site located on Kitt Peak of the Quinlan Mountains in the Arizona-Sonoran Desert on the Tohono O'odham Nation southwest of Tucson. The observatory has 24 optical and two radio telescopes and it is the largest, most diverse gathering of astronomical instruments in the world. The observatory is administered by the National Optical Astronomy Observatory. Kitt Peak hosts a variety of programs for the public. There are 3 tours daily that are guided by staff. There is a Nightly Observing Program and there is an Advanced Amateur Astronomers Program.
