Today, April 22, 2014, is National Jelly Bean Day. Jelly beans are a small bean-shaped type of confectionery with a soft candy shell and a gel interior which come in a wide variety of flavors. The confection is primarily made of sugar. Most historians contend that jellybeans were first linked with celebrations of Easter in the United States sometime in the 1930s.
