Dave had an apparent heart attack on Thursday, and is in a local hospital. He is joking with the staff and appears to be feeling well. There are more tests scheduled, pending specialist approval. I wanted to share this news, not because we are friends, but as a reminder that when everything is said and done, this is a site that allows for the exchange of opinions, but has no real effect on outcomes. It is up to each of us to decide what the outcome should be and act accordingly. I will be seeking additional opportunities, when presented, to be more active in the affairs of the board. I believe the key is going to be able to be involved at all. Beyond the LRP, the opportunities to help shape the future of the RCSC, and Sun City, are being stifled. I feel we need to have a greater voice in the role and scope of the RCSC and will be looking for ways to advance these initiatives. I have a renewed resolve to try to shape this community into what it can and should be, and not a pawn to rules designed to thwart the will and collective spirit of what Sun City can be. No, not an activist, my legs don't allow such grandiose activities. Rather I will be seeking ways and methods to yet to be discovered and announced to try to shape Sun City into a welcoming and enticing place to want to live and thrive. Thank you, Carole. Sending out good vibes to Dave and his SO. I sat next to Dave at the now infamous 2021 Annual meeting. He was funny and I enjoyed speaking with him. We have a similar sense of humor. I admire his honesty, and he is who he is regardless of what anyone thinks. I appreciate his service to the community and also same to you Carole. You should both just enjoy yourselves now at this stage in your lives and take care of your health. Sun City will be just fine.
Reporting from the hospital, this is the 4th time medical science has tried to end me yet here I am. I pleased to say that the staff here are top notch in spite of humoring me, true professionals. You see a nurse or a nursing assistant, thank them for all they do in spite of long hours, short staffing, duties that do not require nursing and do it all with a smile and a pleasant demeanor. Should be back shortly in SC to spread my joy everywhere. Happy holidays to all. D
