Is it just me, or does this sound ass backwards to you as well? Yesterday at the Board/Member Exchange a question caught my ear and peaked my curiosity. The RCSC had posted drawing of the new property on Grand Ave. I thought it looked really good and was impressed with both layout and design. Someone asked the question: What's the budget for the project? The stunned silence was quickly followed with the answer, something to the effect, we won't know until they (the contractor) gives us the costs. You can see the actual question and answer on the video once posted, but i think you will see/hear what i mean. Maybe that's the way things are done these days. I know there was a budgeted number affixed to the old long range plan, but has that gone bye the by? I know we have a lot of money in the bank, but aren't we trying to stay within certain ranges? And as long as i am asking, has anyone seen or heard any new figures on the South golf course pro shop? At one point we had budgeted 2 million dollars. Is that still the number? Just curious eh?
It runs in my mind that there was a $3 million figure approved by the Board for the first phase which I believe was for the remodel of existing building for the clubs. At my age a lot of things "run" through my mind to never resurface again so my info may or may not be correct.
