I spend my days reading and writing inspirational material. I'd like to share thoughts with you from time to time, and I'd like to hear from you! "One can never speak enough of the virtues, the dangers, the power of shared laughter." --Francoise Sagan. I don't know about you, but I find myself laughing more the older I get--even make a few people laugh with my crazy stand-up-type comedy rants. But, as in the quote, there is nothing better than shared laughter. Sun City could use more of it! How about a comedy night with clips from good old sit-coms, early cartoons, anyone who wants to tell some good jokes or read a funny story! So, find someone to laugh with today!
Thanks for info. I am very new at this Talking Stuff and appreciate learning how to do it better. I will check out the fun page and add to it, also!
Funny thing is I was just thinking about my morning swim with my two neighbors. I love these gals and feel so blessed to have finally found a neighborhood to enjoy. We laughed quite a lot today because one of us is very, very short and she had so much trouble in the 5' deep end we busted up laughing. We promised to buy her floaties for the next swim.
I enjoy water walking, also -- best way to work out and talk at the same time. There are many chances to laugh and some stories make you want to cry. I'm close to 6 feet, so I enjoy the deep water.
The word for today is HUSH...Rest your throat and your mind with a strong dose of hushed silence...When everything that comes out of your mouth begins to sound ugly and negative, hush...If you feel like whining, consider whether you'd rather just hush....Words from Rachel Snyder "Words of Wisdom for Women". It is all too easy for seniors to get caught up in complaining about everything. So, if you tend to be a complainer, whiner, or have the cup half-empty syndrome, just for today, HUSH!
