I have been asked to post the following:

PETITIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO SIGN PRIOR TO THE CANDIDATE FORUM TODAY - 12:30 - 3:00 AT THE SUNDIAL AUDITORIUM AND AT FAIRWAY RECREATION CENTER, VARIOUS TIMES. THEY WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE AT THE NEXT BOARD MEETING ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21ST BEFORE 9 AM.

    We need a new Board!
We need a Board with Integrity, not pet projects!
We need a Board with ethics, not incompetence!
We need a Board that cares about the Sun City community as our founder Del Webb envisioned.
Please consider signing each of the nine (9) petitions.
    Thank you.

WHY WE ARE FILING THIS PETITION

We present you with an information sheet regarding the Recall Petition for the entire RCSC Board of Directors.
The Nine (9) members of the Board are:
    President Tom Foster
    Director Steve Collins
    Vice President Karen McAdam
    Director Kat Fimmel
    Treasurer Anita Borski
    Director Preston Kise
    Secretary Connie Richtmyre
    Director Chris Nettesheim
    Director Jim Rough
Each petition is for a specific Board member. Each petition, however, cites the same reasons for the recall.

    They are:
    • No confidence in this board member
    • Unethical Conduct
    • Failure to follow Corporate Procedures
    • Failure to follow Corporate Guidelines, including the Bylaws of the Corporation
    • Failure to follow Board Policies
    • Making decisions that are clearly not in the best interest of the entire Sun City Community.

    Also:

    · Inadequate preparation for the introduction of an important motion presented to the Members at the Special Session on November 11th regarding Board Policy 24, Section 4”
*Questions asked by the Membership at the meeting could not be answered by the Board regarding the Access Fee at $12,000, Age Overlay, School Taxes
    · Board members did not see fit to consult with SCHOA, our community member, until the day before the motion was introduced.

    Also:

    · Failure to act immediately when our libraries were put at risk.
    · Failure to keep the Membership apprised of the library situation so that many Members read about the issue first in the newspaper.
*Said issue is still not resolved
    · Failure to act immediately when our Punch Card process, clearly spelled out in the Board Policies, was changed by the GM/Management without a motion to make these changes.
*New Punch cards have been issued but Members have not been alerted to the fact that the words “No Expiration Date”

However, the latest incident regarding the second motion presented at the Special Session on November 11th is the most egregious of the Board.

    · The design architect's recommendation was submitted on October 31st to the board in a Planning Session; according to the Bylaws of the corporation, members are not allowed to speak at these sessions.
    · Per the Boards own Agenda, a Special Session to follow the regularly scheduled Exchange meeting on November 11th, 2024 was called to vote upon the relocation of the Performing Arts Center. During the regular exchange meeting where it is most appropriate to comment, members were cautioned not to speak about anything related to the Performing Art Center (PAC) issue resulting in many members leaving prior to the Special Session.
    · Director Collins presented the motion - I move that the recommendation by TriArc, the architect engineering firm designing the Mountainview project, regarding the location of the proposed Performing Arts Center (PAC), be accepted.
*He then concluded his remarks by stating “the Board had already decided that they were going along with what the Architectural firm presented.”
    · Knowledgeable community Members in the real estate profession and project planning stated their objections with facts.
    · Numerous Members called for a community-wide development plan with an independent legal impact study and a Maricopa County transportation study of ingress and egress safety concerns.
    · Numerous Members addressed the incompetent decision of tearing out a World Class and #1 North American lawn bowls facility.
    · Failure to communicate this motion to the Members who live on the lake.
    · Disregard for the work of the Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC).
    · Disregard for the opinions generated from four (4) Town Halls where it was evident that most Members present were in favor of Plan M.
    · The motion presenter left the meeting with no explanation; leaving before the vote was taken.
*Another member of the Board left as well.
    · The Board refused to table the motion.
    · During the Special Session, procedures followed by the Board were not consistent with the rules and procedures as set forth in the Bylaws of the Corporation.

Ignoring the viewpoint of the majority of Members present at the Special Session, the Board voted 6 in favor and 1 opposed to approve the motion.

The second reading of the motion will be at the next Board meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Sundial Auditorium.
Please try to attend this very important meeting.

I will not be signing any of the petitions. I believe there are better ways to resolve the issues.

Someone else finally pointed this out - although they forgot the words "were removed" after "No Expiration Date". The old cards had this statement for a reason and since they wanted to change the policy, they didn't highlight this important piece when making the original decision to eliminate them.

Petty I know, but an important factor in determining intent and integrity.

While I agree with the blunders in this petition, I will again, reserve judgement until after the Nov 21, 9 am meeting at Sundial.

I do believe there are a few Board members that may rethink their influenced position.
