This month's RCSC board meeting went with nary a hitch. The dozen or so attendees watched as the board passed 5 motions. The one vote did raise some eyebrows as Board member Ida Eisert made a motion to remove the 2 million dollars allocated to the Willow course's greens be removed from the 2017 long range plan. Seems the golf experts have told us we have 8 to 10 years life in them yet. It's a little like going for an oil change, and saying we might as well buy new tires even though they're good for another 60,000 miles. Kudos to both her and Carol Lawry for both voting in support of the motion. Of course it died, common sense has little chance when the boys rally round the flagpole. One of the board members argued he agreed, but, this was the third time in 5 months they have changed the long range plan budget and didn't want to have to do it again. You've got to love the argument. Watching these guys work their magic around the PIF budget is akin to going to Bell and trying to watch a ping pong match.
Maybe the work of the RCSC Board of Directors should call it a "LONG RANGE SUGGESTION" since it changes so often.
