Just had a suggestion by a member of Sun City Chat Arizona (Facebook) site i help administrate. The poster suggested we think about doing a house tours in the community as "fund raisers." I told her we talked about doing one over the years but always a problem scheduling. Cool to do a vintage tour alongside a remodeled one. Anyone else think it would be a good idea?
There's actually a lot of drawbacks, especially these days. Pre-sales of tickets with proper venting at the top of the list.
Using "parade of homes" model as the guide. A Home Builders Association might be able to help figure it out.
Not sure about Phoenix area, but still big in the Midwest....they are for new homes of course, but the principle would basically be the same, right?
Just thinking out loud but I wonder if the RCSC couldn't sell tickets using the same computer system/software they use to sell tickets for the events at Sun Dial? It would take a lot of work but it would be cool if you could show homes in a before and after state. Find homes that have been pretty much left untouched then show the same style home that has been renovated and updated! Before we renovated our home we were lucky enough to get inside and see a few same style homes that had been renovated which gave us some great ideas.
