As I sit here in New Jersey with a sweatshirt on, I'm thinking of frost of the pumpkins, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'd love for folks to post special things going on in our neighborhood during the holidays.

As a start, The Church of the Palms (across from the Sun Dial Rec. Center) hosts a free Thanksgiving Dinner each year for anyone--a great way to share the holiday with "thankful" people and enjoy a great traditional homemade Turkey dinner. One only needs to contact the church for a reservations. Keep this opportunity in mind if you dine alone or have a small party you'd like to take out for a nice meal on Thanksgiving Day.

    More details to follow!

So hard to get my head around the holidays creeping up on us so quickly. Where did summer go?

At 110 today, September 6, 2013, I don't think summer has quite left.

I just might go to the Thanksgiving dinner at Church of the Palms.
    Might take a friend.

    I'll be watching for details.

Not much better here in CO....it's been in the high 90's in Denver.....80's here in the mountains. Pretty warm for this time of year. But that will change.....and soon. I'm already into Sun City mode, and thinking if the trip back to AZ.

    It sure looks stormy today.
And I think it is going to be under 100.
    Don't get too complacent.
Temps is supposed to go up, up, up again.

    A Gentle Reminder...

Christmas is not the same as when we had children at home. Even though I miss them during the holidays, I love the relaxed and peaceful holiday with the emphasis on the Reason for the season.
