Hi Folks, I'm a brand new ...just signed on ....member. Been in Arizona a long time...37 years, but in Sun City for only 14. Am in Phase II of Sun City and have some of the nicest neighbors. I'm one of those people who sometimes have trouble sleeping through the night ... it's now only 10 of 3 a.m. Happy to be here, now heading for the kitchen for a cup of tea. Bye ...Caroline

    Greetings CarolineM!

My husband and I moved to Sun City a year and a half ago and have not had one regret so far. We love our neighborhood and our funky little shed we remodeled.
I have "insomnia" nights too often too.
If you have any interest in pottery, please come in and see our clay club at the Lake recreation center.

How close to the rail tracks are you?

I am also in Phase II - about the middle between Grand and Bell.
If I am outside I hear the train whistle about 4/5 in the afternoon.

Have you thought about the possibility that the train whistle about 4 in the morning wakes you?
Get some earplugs and find out.

I agree. SC has great people/neighbors.

It took me a while to figure out how to join this group .... now I'm trying to figure how to reply. I know I should have understood
all this before I got started, but I'll just play it by ear and how it goes to "pegmih" where I'm hoping. You asked about the
rail tracks...they don't bother me because I'm not near enough to hear the trains. I just am one of those people who wakes at
odd hours .... am wide awake and there's no sense in trying to get back to sleep cause it just isn't going to happen . So you
either read or get up and get a real early start on your housework. If it were any noise that was waking me, it might be from traffic
since I live just one street south of Bell Rd . In fact, the wall seperates my home from Bell. I've lived here 14 years now and for
the most part, I don't even hear the noise . If the train noise wakes you, are you able to go back to sleep again. If not, the nice
thing about being retired is there's always time for a nap later in the day.
