Hi all, My first visit to Sun City has been quite enjoyable. I arrived late Wednesday afternoon, and leave tomorrow morning. Although the rainy, cool weather was somewhat unusual (or so I have been told). I did enjoy today's sunshine and seeing more people out on golf carts. I did get to stop at the Bell Rec. Center - great facility and one other rec center whose name I cannot remember. I went to several open houses for homes in my price range just to see how much home my budget could buy. One question for someone who is considering moving to Sun City who has not experienced Sun City's weather in the summer, is it advisable to rent a home for a couple of weeks in the summer as kind of a "test drive" of the weather? I ask this because wherever I end up relocating to, I will be a full time resident, as I cannot afford to maintain a home in the Sun Belt and one up north. I have been in Florida long enough in the summer to say I can tolerate Florida's summer humidity, but I don't know how I would deal with the dry summer heat of Arizona. I wish I could have stayed longer in Sun City. I was quite impressed with what I saw. I will keep Sun City on my short list of places when I am considering where to spend my post-Chicago years.
The warm (hot?) summers do not seem to bother me and many others. You just go from an air conditioned place to an air conditioned car. There are even indoor walking areas. I hope you got to see the indoor pools at Sundial. If you have any questions, ask away. Sun City people are very friendly and helpful. Guess that's 'cause we love it here!
