That seems like a contradiction. "The seller declined our [best and final] offer and have concluded the negotiations." and "Together, we can make these spaces vibrant, useful, and reflective of our community's spirit."
Sadly I would think yes. It was mentioned here that The Grand Bldg was negotiated in the dark of night (forgot who said it), then the whole library fiasco with no member conversation. then the T-Bird Bldg bid with no member conversation, and the $87k desk at Fairway. It has been said that Sun City is a contractor's dream come true. How long before all these expenditures make SC unaffordable due to PIF/CIF/Assessment increases and why aren't we using this money to repair what we have and spruce up this little town. Factor in lack of trust in the board members and businesses closing or moving something is just not right. Just my opinion, and yes I know it's not popular so no need for hate comments. I have seen them all.
There is no time stamp on the library status in the “SC Update”, so that could be old news, compared to Emily’s feedback. Also the RCSC may be playing a little game to control the news cycle by waiting until the big reveal on their timetable.
Aren't we a little old to be playing games like that? I gave up hide and seek when I was about twelve years old. Just deal with us honestly! Of course with negotiations, you don't want to be laying your cards out on the table until the time is right. I guess we just have to bide our time for now. If the leases don't come to fruition, then we will have to raise holy hell again.
What if the game is just to be secretive until everyone just gives up? The only time in the 20 years I have lived here that members got upset enough to come out in droves was with the libraries. If they don't renew the lease won't it be too late to raise hell?
Re Fairway desk I found this on another platform and it made me realize how little some of these RCSC documents mean when it comes to board rules. I removed names (except mine) and areas of Sun City associated with names even tho it's ok now to dox people on this platform. •Sun City •17m 84,000, ALOT OF MONEY FOR THAT MOVE N A DESK AND SOME WIRING. For some reason I am not getting The Independent any longer. It's been an issue for a while now with most on our street and I won't pay to read online. Regarding being lied to, if those people are not being called out on their lies they will keep lying.
Happy Hippie, I don't pay for the Independent and I read it online. However you can only read the most current edition. Go to their website then find all of the communities listed in blue font, click on Sun City Independent. Then click on the photo of the Sun City Independent to the right. You will not be able to access the daily Independent, but any of the ones listed in blue font at the bottom of their webpage. you should be able to click through the pages, click on the articles you want to read.
Emily, Perhaps the staff members didn't know. Not sure it is fair to ask them questions about Management and Board issues. Call the Corporate Office, give them your question and ask someone to get back to you.
Thanks! Well at least you didn't get the standard well then join the board. I did once and said no, I am retired and if I choose to work again it will be for money. Well if words were bullets I would be dead.
NEW BOARD INFORMATION: "Urgent Announcement: ANOTHER FRAUD REPORT During Monday's Exchange meeting, the Board will have to disclose that over the summer, they entered into a SNEAK, UNDERHANDED, contract for a new website, costing $300,000.00, set to launch next year. CHRIS N. was at the forefront of this decision. Is this what we consider transparency from the Board? It may be time to reconsider their role, as their spending seems to disregard the concerns of Sun City's residents. Please inform others of this development." I don't know who Chris N (Chris Nettesheim?) is but this came from someone who is quite knowledgeable about the happenings in Sun City. Confirmed
I apologize. Yes, and Technology Committee. Yes in my head no on paper. Chalking it up to a senior moment.
RE: NEW WEBSITE Who is not on First. Who is so far out in left field we can't see him. 1. 300k website contract leaked 2. link to new site appears 3. questioned if site done when was contract signed and work done. current work done by our paid IT employees 4. link to a new site pops up 5. what's the deal? looks like the old website 6. The one referenced above, ending in RCSC is our website HOME page. The one referenced in the E Notification is the “What do you want to do/know” information page. Two separate pages, links and graphics. 7. Great. My 83 year old neighbor will be calling me hourly now 8. no only one site. Every page has a unique url. Seriously??? WTH?? We are a community of seniors. So we have our IT guys working away and a $300k contract for someone to come in to make it right? Wonder how much the $300k contract will cost us. What went to the bar.
Let's be sure the $300,000 contract is real and not a rumor. It should show up in the financials and I am sure someone will ask at the Exchange on Monday. I agree it looks like the old website with a few color enhancements.
You will find I won't post info unless confirmed. Linda McIntyre confirmed it. So did Aaron whoever. There are two parts to the site supposedly per above. Makes no sense to me. From ND: The one referenced above, ending in RCSC is our website HOME page. The one referenced in the E Notification is the “What do you want to do/know” information page. Explore the New Features Dear RCSC Members, We’re happy to share some exciting news—the Recreation Centers of Sun City websitehas just received a fresh redesign! ️✨ Our in-house team has been hard at work the past several weeks, redesigning and improving the site to make your experience smoother, faster, and a little more fun (like a fresh coat of paint, but digital) — just in time to wrap up summer. We hope this redesign makes things easier and more enjoyable for you in the meantime, until we get the new website in a few months. We’ve also added new tools to enhance accessibility, ensuring the site is easy to use for everyone in our community. See the re-designed website at suncityaz.org. Same address, new paint. Now, here’s where you come in: we’d love for you to dive in and explore the new look and features! Take it for a test drive, click around, and enjoy the upgrade. Now, we know not everything will be perfect right off the bat, so if you have any concerns, questions, complaints, or even (fingers crossed!) compliments , feel free to send them our way at marketing@suncityaz.org. Thanks for being part of our awesome community — we’re always striving to make things better, and this new site is just one more way we’re doing that! Happy exploring, The RCSC Team I questioned why 2 sites. Here is my answer: Only one site. Every page has a unique url. Yes every individual web page has a unique url. However, 2 sites (web pages) are mentioned. I asked a lot of questions and got bupkis. I have not looked yet. Guess I really don't care. Why should I or anyone else? Obviously we don't matter. What I do know is that it appears it will be much more difficult for our older residents. The 1st site I saw was so busy with big photos in the background it was difficult to navigate. The 2nd looks like the original. More wasted money.
Recreation Centers of Sun City (RCSC) - Sun City, Arizona - The Original Fun City! (suncityaz.org) Sun City, Arizona - The Original Fun City! (suncityaz.org) Looks like 2 sites to me. You can't make this stuff up.
Is just me, or do others not get it as well? Why would the RCSC in-house Communicating & Marketing Department be instructed to spend time developing and revising our website if they've already contracted an outside firm to do it? Am I missing something?
Nope! You have it exactly right Sir. I asked the question of Linda and Aaron several times and the answers are more convoluted than the post.
