The age overlay was brought up in Bill's thread "Back To The Future..." (OFF TOPIC BTW) regarding a gang of 4 under 40 waiting to play pickle ball. I remember from a while ago there was an issue with married couples, one over 55, one under 55, both on deed. The over 55 spouse dies, does the under 55 spouse has to move. There was talk of changing that to allow the widow/widower to stay. Did that ever happen? Tried looking for it but could not find anything. Thanks.
Article II, Corporate Bylaws, Section 1 Continued Member status by an underage spousal Owner because of the death or long term medical relocation of the Owner meeting the age requirement, will continue so long as the Owners and occupancy status of the Property does not change.
Thank you. Says in header the bylaws amended 12/14/23. Was Article II Section 1 always a part of the Bylaws or was it added in December 2023? Not a big deal, just curious.

Whenever an edit is posted to the documents, the date of the change is posted as well. I don’t know the answer as to the original document versus what is written now. I don’t know of any site that offers copies of the original document prior to amending.
I can tell you that that rule shows up as far back as the 1993 Bylaws. Don't know how much earlier it actually showed up than that.
Thank you for the update FYI. I was glad to have found it, as with amending the documents, there are times things move and change, proving to be tricky to locate.
Yes, one of the Directors changed her vote from "yes" on the first reading to "no" on the second reading. The President thought she must have made a mistake so they took a second vote on the second reading. Still a "no" so the adoption of the bylaws failed. Several weeks later I asked the person who changed her vote why she did that. A simple reply was that they contained things she didn't like. However, the post you are referring to says "Amended 12/14/23". Our bylaws committee did our work in 2022, a year earlier.
The entire by laws were amended in 2023. News to me as I do not remember a group spending 6 months going through everything. Who was responsible for this and who worked on it?
December 14th, 2023 to be exact and then again in December 19th 2024! I believe this was the makings of Jim Rough?
I don't think the entirety of the bylaws was changed in 2023. Director Rough made several proposed changes. Some passed, others didn't. It's now in the hands of a new ad hoc committee. I know that I will not be volunteering again.
And has anybody heard when that Ad Hoc committee will be established? Members are waiting to hear/learn about the motions and amendments they offered at the Annual Membership meeting, but the way it's looking, they will not learn anything for several months, if even at all! I, for one, hope the number of pages of Bylaws are reduced. Seems things went fine back in 1975 with only 9 pages, or 1993 when it was 19 pages. Building additional Rec Centers and owning golf courses doesn't change the fundamental requirements of the Corporation. Whether there were only 3 Recreation Centers or expanded to 8 Recreation Centers, the same rules apply. Just my opinion!
FYI, I believe the yet to be established committee will be a whole lot smarter than you. They will when formed have until November to present the new product so it can go through the two readings. I see a lot of long days in meetings and working through the summer. No snowbirds as our technology sucks, this is really a situation of being there in person and not phoning from the Occitaine of France or October fest in Germany.
Of course, they will be smarter than me Dave, and that's because nobody is smarter than you! You did such a great job when you were on the committee that the revision never even passed, which was a good thing because it was filled with duplications, contradictions and in my opinion many things that just didn't belong. PLEASE DON'T RESPOND just too tell me how smart you are and your resume', once again, an again, an again!!!! Wrong again Dave. If the issue remains in the hands of a committee it doesn't die at the end of the year.
The technology has some blips but shouldn't prevent qualified snowbirds for participating in the bylaws or any committee. After all, snowbirds pay approximately 30% of the revenues for RCSC so their voices count, too. Who are you referring to, "the ....committee will be a whole lot smarter you"?
A few Board members have told me that they wanted passed by the end of the years and that means the monthly Board meeting second reading in December. Again lying Josie has me saying things I never said, actually hope the committee is composed of very smart people, but the committee has not been formed, no one has been named. Tom, the four motions that the members wanted in the by laws were incorporated, but you never acknowledged that fact. That is your part and parcel when you post, aside googling history to make you sound intelligent. Since you never got back to me on my Constitution question regarding education I will give you the answer, the Preamble, the section almost everyone never reads. Actually the Preamble provides five specific th8ngs: 1. a more perfect Union 2. Establish Justice- Federal court system 3. Insure Domestic tranquility- FBI and U.S. Marshal Service
Sorry, hit wrong button. 4.Provide for Common Defense- speaks for itself but is also the basis for the military draft 5. Promote General Welfare- this has several interpretations such as eduction, lockdowns for pandemics, vaccines for epidemics or pandemics, Interstate or the Federal roads, etc.
