The ACC candidates will be in Sun City for a meet and greet forum.

    Date - October 8, 2018

    Time - 6:30pm

    Location - Sundial Recreation Center

This is an opportunity for everyone in Sun City to meet the candidates for the ACC.

    I would urge everyone concerned about the ever rising utility rate increases to meet the candidates and ask pointed questions on where they stand on the following issues;

APS and their campaign to penalize solar customers.

APS and their constant requests for rate increases with no incentives to rate payers.

APS and their prop 127 scare tactics stating that rates will increase by 1000.00 if they are forced to provide more than 6% renewable energy.

Fact - electric rates like health care costs will continue to rise year after year.

Whether Prop 127 passes or fails, APS will be asking for huge increases in rates in the very near future.

Californias rate increases were due in part to the closure of San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS)

EPCOR and their push to consolidate all their water districts causing your water rates to dramatically increase.

EPCOR and their forced management take-over of Johnson Utilities.

EPCOR will use the management take-over of Johnson as the basis of even further rate increases over and above their request for consolidation.

    EPCOR’s customer base

1.9 million people across three Canadian provinces and 3 U.S. states.

Of those customers, approximately only 360,000 people across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas

The above are huge issues for everyone in Sun City.

If you don't care that your rates will increase dramatically should the wrong candidates be elected, then by all means, do not attend this forum. Since the forum is at the Rec center, it should be a non-partisan forum. Your political affiliation should not be the deciding factor on who you eventually vote for. Your questions to the candidates and their answers should be your decision maker.

Your pocket book is at stake here.

Great informational post SCR, and unfortunately one that will be sadly under-utilized. What we have seen in the past is folks following their traditional voter roles and simply voting party lines. The republicans led b Andy Tobin and the ACC have embraced full on socialism to shore up the outlying communities that have been paying their actual costs to deliver water and and remove waste water. The consolidation of districts will flat our crush the Sun Cities by the time full phase in hits us.

On the other side of the coin is the shameful behavior of APS. They've been shoveling dark money at candidates who use the massive war chest to buy the seats they hold and their return on investment is paying off in spades. Their 4-5% increase has produced rate hikes for some in double digits. Solar should be booming in the state, but the games being played are an effort to stall or stem it from taking from their monopoly. There are simply no checks and balances any more.

Any candidate supporting dark money as some sort of free enterprise should be sent packing. Sorry, corporations aren't people.

On a side note, yesterday at the SCHOA board meeting it was announced Greg Isert was leaving the SCHOA board on the 12th of Oct. He has done things regarding these battles that no one in their right mind would even consider. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for a job well done.
